New thread
So todays market volitility and general spazzing by brokers all over the world has reminded me of the SEMINAL Film Trading Places, and makes me want to watch it.

What other films should I watch. This thread is about Film, which I'm really into.

Wall Street seems appropriate.

I haven't seen the new one, is the new one any good?

Dunno, I haven't seen either of them.
Happy to help!

Don't like it.
Although "the reunion" a Radio 4 show has that bloke and his ex colleages all sat round a table next week, that might be worth a listen.
(, Fri 5 Aug 2011, 15:11, Reply)
Well this is a sucessful thread.

I think everyone's just buggered off or busy
that, or they all hate you. Them's the breaks.
(, Fri 5 Aug 2011, 15:13, Reply)
I didn't leave much oppertunity within the thread for them to talk about themselves.
It's a schoolboy error, I should know better.
(, Fri 5 Aug 2011, 15:15, Reply)
I don't think we ALL hate him...
I do, obviously, but to every ying there is a yang, and all that. There must be someone who likes Chompy as much as I hate him.

Mustn't there?

After many recommendations on here, I'm going to watch Dead Man's Shoes tonight.
Have you seen that?
(, Fri 5 Aug 2011, 15:11, Reply)
Nah, I just looked up a description, I'm not a big fan of the vengency films.
Exceptions: Get Carter and Old Boy
(, Fri 5 Aug 2011, 15:13, Reply)
If you liked Get Carter
watch Harry Brown. It's got almost nothing in common with Get Carter except that it has Michael Cain with guns in.
(, Fri 5 Aug 2011, 15:14, Reply)
I didn't enjoy Old Boy as much as I expected to
It was very good, but I just didn't get into it at any point.
(, Fri 5 Aug 2011, 15:31, Reply)
Watch Sympathy for Lady Vengeance

Trading Places is a top film
Not least for the first appearance on celluloid of Jamie Lee Curtis' norks.

There's an awesome film with Edward James Olmos in it. Blade Runner, it's called. Bit pretentious but worth sticking with it.
(, Fri 5 Aug 2011, 15:14, Reply)
Ugh Jamie Lee Curtis

You said it when I was away at glastonbury or haven't posted for hours or spoken to you for days.
It's the online equivilent of tapping me on the shoulder to tell me you don't like me in school. It's fucking weird.
(, Fri 5 Aug 2011, 15:29, Reply)
Why would I care what you think?

(, Fri 5 Aug 2011, 15:31, Reply)

which indicates at least some desire to affect my thoughts of you?
(, Fri 5 Aug 2011, 15:33, Reply)
Have to admit I hadn't thought of it that way
That wasn't my intention, to be honest. I'm pretty sure you know that I hate you. Maybe it's cathartic.
(, Fri 5 Aug 2011, 15:35, Reply)
Marty, the internet is not for hating people
You come across as obsessively weird and creepy in that respect.

Isn't searching for yourself+insult a bit needy too?
Did you also search for chompy+lovely too? Y'know, just to see...
(, Fri 5 Aug 2011, 15:27, Reply)
I did it for a punchline,
Kristine said "you don't seem to be the sort who pops their collar" I searched for that so I could find a bunch of posts saying "chompy is a cunt" implying that people who pop their collars are cunts.

I'm very witty.
(, Fri 5 Aug 2011, 15:30, Reply)
So are you a cunt then?

(, Fri 5 Aug 2011, 15:31, Reply)
No I'm lovely :D

I think I would like to go picture house with you some time, but can we please choose a venue that has a working fizzy slush puppy machine?
I really like fizzy slush puppies and it's partly why the last few times I've got to the picturehouses, but it wasn't fixed in that time.

I hope that it's alright that I want to go picture house with you.
(, Fri 5 Aug 2011, 16:11, Reply)
Nobody likes going to the cinema with me Gonz
I don't go to the cinema to see good films
(, Fri 5 Aug 2011, 16:16, Reply)
I donno, you said you saw the new x-man film, I enjoyed that, it was very good. I would like to see it again, but it's off the picture house.
As long as they've got fizzy slush puppy and fabulous company, then I'm as happy as larry... so it's 50% guarntied to have a good time with you, depending on if the machine is working or not. I can rough it though and have an Oasis instead.
(, Fri 5 Aug 2011, 16:26, Reply)
It's OK though if you don't want to go picture house with me, I'm battering way above my league here, I'd completely understand.
