best comment on the riots that i have seen was on twitter. i paraphrase:
"currys - looted. comet - looted. post office - looted. drugstore - looted. bookshop - fine.

knowledge = chav kryptonite"

bet you none of those fuckers can read anyway.

where are our champion lefties, al, chompy and bella anyway? wearing balaclavas and smashing up tesco?!

it's got fuck all to do with left or right
and a lot to do with cunt or not cunt.
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:21, Reply)
this ^^
although i assume it will be used in a devicive way by every shade and direction of opinion and politics. And that's what's gonna fuck us over
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:22, Reply)
of course
but there's still a lot of woolly drum banging about the poor disaffected yoofs. i am going to stick my neck out here and say that nobody who is symathising with the rioters owns a blue rosette!
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:23, Reply)
I imagine banging a woolly drum wouldn't be very effective

(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:28, Reply)
no comment...

woolly drum - about as useful as a furry cup

(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:30, Reply)
furry cups are very useful for supping from...

(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:37, Reply)
I'm not just talking about the rioters
Those justifying it are first and foremost cunts, not left or right wing. See Livingston, Ken.

Be really careful in this area, because those who try and make political capital out of this either way are equally cunty. To say that since Tories aren't sympathising then Tories must be good is as bad as Livingston saying it's down to cuts so Tories must be bad.

There's nothing overtly political in this and trying to make it so is the last resort of those too daft to see what's going on.
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:31, Reply)
shit, i agree with every word of this
do something. i feel like my world has stopped spinning.

You're going to cut off her hands
then use them to grope me? Even for here, that's weird, man.
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:43, Reply)
It's a niche fetish, I'll admit

(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 12:00, Reply)
They're working out what political capital Ken Livingstone can make out of this

(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:21, Reply)
Bella left ages ago
You really should have noticed, the event led to a 100% reduction in your trolling
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:24, Reply)
she might have left b3ta ages ago
but that doesn't mean she isn't in london sticking it to the man, hence my question "where is she" !
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:26, Reply)
As if I'm going to tell you

She's not in London.

(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:29, Reply)

Wasn't her last blog post
"A Leftwing call to arms"? I think she has to take some of the blame.
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:37, Reply)
Haha, good point.

(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:40, Reply)
I've just seen a cracking pic from Dalston, taken last night

CFB

"One man said: 'This is Turkish Kurdish area. They come to our shops and we fight them with sticks.'"

Haha, fucking superb.
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:32, Reply)
i LOVE this story
it made me v proud of them last night, even though i'm not turkish or kurdish!
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:34, Reply)
Makes it even better when they say later on that 4 youths came, and had the shit kicked out of them for starting trouble.
Karma can be fantastic, sometimes.
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:39, Reply)

rma babs
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:40, Reply)
This is true.

(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:43, Reply)
That looks like Dalston Junction.

(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:37, Reply)
What does CFB stand for?

(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:39, Reply)
Click for bigger.

(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:40, Reply)
Well ther you go!
I thought it was "cunting fucking big" or something
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:41, Reply)
Good for them.
If people are going to loot them and destroy things they work so hard to maintain, they should be able to defend themselves. I'm glad they stuck together to protect their business.
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:40, Reply)
It's made even better by the fact that they kept their shops open
As they didn't need to close.
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:41, Reply)
Bad idea. I can understand the desire to do so
but how is trying to fight them going to prevent more people being hurt and more buildings torched?

There are hundreds of these cunts and they're armed with bricks, bottle and petrol bombs. Riot police can handle that sort of crowd, private citizens can't, no matter how hairy they are.
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:41, Reply)
The rioters are mostly cowards, I'd say
They're barely facing any resistance, and with their faces covered, they think they can get away with it. A good kicking is just what they need, might make them reconsider what they're doing.
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:43, Reply)
The problem here is
as soon as the police employ more heavy handed tactics, it will in some people eyes 'legitimise the rioters position, thus swaying opinion and potentially brining more people out onto the streets.

That is why they are standing off.
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:46, Reply)
I don't see how preserving people in salt water will help.

(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:53, Reply)
It'll certainly stop them rioting.

(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:55, Reply)
It's not good, but unfortunately they're now stuck between a rock and a hard place
I'm of the opinion that tear gas, water cannons and rubber bullets would clear the majority of the rioters pretty damn quickly, run that alongside kettling from riot/armed police, and you could take the sting out of it quickly.

However, if they are too heavy handed, it can work against them, as you say.
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:54, Reply)
there ain't no water cannons in the country

(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:56, Reply)
What about Norn Iron?

(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 12:02, Reply)
Charging them with armoured cars worked pretty well last night.
Expect to see more of that tonight.
(, Tue 9 Aug 2011, 11:57, Reply)
Sounds like Carmageddon!
