I bet you also have a sense of righteous indignation
and think they should all have their benefits taken away from them.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 16:58, 2 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
it's the only way
they have to be driven to more crime to feed themselves and their families.

feed them fags and tvs
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:00, Reply)
this is more succinct

(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:03, Reply)
typically though
I signed the petition anyway, before reading it or thinking about it.

I need to stop doing that.

I can't help it
I want to be a mindless knee-jerking reactionary, but my brain gets in the way. Usually before I can click the link in the confirmation email.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:15, Reply)
That would be the stupidest idea ever, with no measn of support and criminal record and no job prospects how will they fund their many many children?
i had to point tyhis out on fb, also many people in the country have commited far more henious crimes and have retained theirs.

It's a typical knee jerk reactionary response.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:02, Reply)
they should lower the tax on really shit fags
so they all smoke themselves to death
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:03, Reply)
They're all utterly awful proles
we should fire them into space

I've just had a long debate with someone
who kept banging on about how human rights weren't applicable to these people as they had decided to live outside society.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:06, Reply)
Yes, because that's how human rights work, obviously.

(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:07, Reply)
Thats what I kept saying.
They then started talking about "PC bullshit laws" and when I asked them to name one, they said they were too numerous.

I'm now trying desperately to explain to another thick friend that my wishing for the courts to deal with the criminals is not the same as me saying they shouldn't be punished.

I don't really know how else to get this across.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:14, Reply)
Punishing people for revenge and without due process
is the cornerstone of a civilised society.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:15, Reply)
Somehow have their human rights taken away then beat them to within an inch of their lives

(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:17, Reply)
They've jsut told me that their mum is a solicitor and that we should leave this as we aren't getting anywhere.
I agreed that we weren't getting anywhere.

Ape, how do you deal with people that fucking stupid? I'm quite happy for people to have a different opinion if they can back it up, or even if they just irrationally feel that way.

But when they are trying to have a logical debate and then just ignore everything you say, what's the best way to make them die?
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:19, Reply)
their mum is a solicitor?
well fucking hell, they should be minister for justice then.

christ on a bike.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:20, Reply)
Yeah that's what I thought.
To be honest, I've always thought she was a fucking retard, but I thought at least she was logical.

But sadly she's friends with a bunch of other fucking retards. What's worse is that they actually think that they are "good citizens" by actively clamouring for people to have their rights removed.

I fucking despair for the future of the world.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:22, Reply)
I despair as well
which is why I'm trying to have the best time I can now, without concerning myself too much with everyone else.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:26, Reply)
They don't have to listen to you. Don't you understand the significance of their mum being a solicitor?

(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:21, Reply)
There is little hope really I'm afraid
When people begin to believe things they read or heard in contrast to the facts in front of them the world must surely have reached a new level of cretinism.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:23, Reply)
get new friends.
although I had a few clamouring for the army to be sent in.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:19, Reply)
When it was actually kicking off
I was hoping they would actually send in someone to control the crowds. But now it's all over, I think you should be able to take a step back and try and be a bit rational.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:21, Reply)
it's hard to see what can be done to stem that sort of thing if enough people are involved.
I find it hard to see how it be dealt with in the aftermath though. Some people will go to jail, some will get curews, ASBO type things etc. but what difference will that make? not a lot.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:22, Reply)
It's the clamour for revenge
and not accepting that there might be underlying reasons behind the rioting, even though that doesn't actually justify the riots occuring.

People seem incapable of seeing this.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:23, Reply)
I'm not convinced that there was much behind the rioting in the end
to being with perhaps, but there was a lot of "hang on, people are burning and smashing stuff and nicking stuff. I'm having a bit of that action!"
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:24, Reply)
Really?
You don't think having several generations grow up with no prospects for jobs or education and not trying to help them might make them a bit disposed towards not caring about other peoples feelings?

Don't get me wrong, they are still cunts, but even cunts can be helped to not be cunts, or at least have kids who aren't cunts.

It's a big problem, you're not going to fix it by cutting benefits or any other quick idea.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:27, Reply)
I do agree with what you are saying.
but what I think I am trying to get at is that while those conditions may be what has caused people to be that way, the recent stuff is not about them protesting against that situation.

does that make sense?

gotta go now.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:30, Reply)
Oh yeah, it wasn't a protest
but it was violence born of the general situation, if it hadn't been this trigger, it would likely have been something else with the same result.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:34, Reply)
This is more or less what I think
I don't tend to think that looking at the background should effect how the perpetrators are punished, but on the other hand if we don't want shit like this happening again, we need to look at underlying causes.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:37, Reply)
It never ceases to amaze me
How otherwise intelligent people cannot seem to grasp the idea of due process of law some times. Or simple ideas like finding people guilty first and then punishing them.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:22, Reply)
it never seems to amaze you?

(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:23, Reply)
*whistles*
no idea what you mean old boy.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:24, Reply)
The whole affair has turned people into real cunts
The withdrawal of benefits proposal is ridiculous. I'd hope that the chance to speak to their victims might actually bring forth some better impulses but probably not.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:14, Reply)
It's turned a lot of smug middle class fuckwits
into even bigger smug middle class fuckwits.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:20, Reply)
who want to kill people.
let's face it, the looters are massive cunts, who are mostly thick as pig-shit.

The last thing we need is for everyone else to start acting the same.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:21, Reply)
Nothing much changed then
There's a weird split between people who are screaming for benefits to be withdrawn/ bring back National Service etc, and equally cunty people who blame it all on 'the system' and 'the man' and spew bullshit about how the rioters were protesting and it's all the fault of EMA cuts etc
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:22, Reply)
the last is clearly bollocks
cunts taking the opportunity to be cunts while they think they can get away with it.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:24, Reply)
There is a line somewhere in the middle
where you can agree that anyone who actually rioted should get punished, but you can see that allowing people to live in really shit bits of london with shit schools and no jobs and no prospects of getting a job isn't going to make people think rationally about whether or not they should go and nick stuff.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:25, Reply)
Stop making it look like I agree with you.
I have a reputation to consider.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:27, Reply)
We should send them all to Scotland, and they can live in shit areas andhave shit schools up there instead
maybe around badger's house, that'd cheer him up!
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:29, Reply)
I was under the impression that the smelly underclass were allowed to leave their festering sink estates by means of subsidised public transportation throughtout the Capital and indeed beyond

(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:30, Reply)
they are also allowed to have some of the best schooling in the world and
one of the most supportive benefits systems in the world. ho hum.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:32, Reply)
See also the festering sinkhole estates being a thing of the past, the real shit having been torn down and the rest having been renovated to very high standards
The LA's will turn their noses up at private accommodation that they deem 'too small' for LA tenants. Especially in Camden, Islington and Westminster the estates are in very central locations that private tenants would struggle to afford the rent in. Not that the Council tenants have to fret over their heavily subsidised rents lol
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:38, Reply)
Do you actually write for the Daily Mail?
Or just read it.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:42, Reply)
LOL I'm on numerous 'sink' estates in London throughout the week man.
You need to open your eyes my friend.

(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:49, Reply)
Rory old Boy, you may well in this instance have a right to an opinion
Sadly the fact that you are, or spend your time on here pretending to be, a hate-filled mollusc of a man means that I shall instantly discount it.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:50, Reply)
Excellent, our resident Che Guevara is now the arbiter of when people can have an opinion or not. Irrespective of his own ignorance of the subject.
Why don’t you fuck off and sing the red flag to the New Cross Man Dem, tell em that you feel for their socio-political struggles against 'the man'.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:58, Reply)
As far as I recall
Rory works or has worked in housing in London. Having an unpopular viewpoint doesn't mean it's wrong
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:45, Reply)
But having a brutally simplistic viewpoint
whilst ignoring the reality of the situation does mean it's wrong
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:46, Reply)
I didn't say he was wrong.
I said he sounded like the daily Mail, which I maintain is true, fee free to disagree.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:52, Reply)
Well clearly you're correct
and actually none of these problems which we thought had occurred have actually happened. Must have all been a misunderstanding.

We'd better just go and shoot all the people in tottenham in the head.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:34, Reply)
It's the people themselves who make these areas of London shit. The government provides them with state of the art new build schools, and teachers with Nationally approved qualifications, and yet it's still fucking shit.
There's nothing wrong with the infrastructure they're living in, and they get plenty of beer tokens to get them by, and yet they're still not happy. It's all take take take man.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:43, Reply)
Yes Rory

(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:44, Reply)
Great, so we're all agreed then.
We need to get some sortof petition together to vent our collective fury.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:46, Reply)
I'm way to zoned out to read everything here.
BUT, but, I really don't get the "get out of the shitty tower block by an means" thing. It's bullshit. We have a tube system. We have a bus system. Anyone can get anywhere in london, they'll even pay for it for it 'till you find your feet. I know, and this is not an exasoration, billionares who "Escaped the hood", and there are plenty of millionares who have too. You don't have to resort to crime, and who the hell do they think they are, The Crays? The Richardsons? _They_ used crime to escape the hood, _they_ are what these people aspire to be, and they'd be fucking ashamed that some little scrote from their 'state would randomly turn over buisnesses in that fassion (Ok, fine, protection rackets, they'd do it that way, which is why they're wrong, but I mean, they would be disgusted by it. Or they would have organised it a lot better).

You know what makes someone rise up against their humble beginings? Hunger. Pure and simple. And these kids don't have it. They're peckish at best.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 18:51, Reply)
I take a middle road
I think underlying societal conditions may have had a hand it it, but this is not an excuse and everyone caught and convicted should get the proper sentence for whatever it is they are convicted of.

But then I'm weird.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:27, Reply)
off with his head!

(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:27, Reply)
Well clearly.
These are the ranting of a dangerous pinko lefty. I should probably be strung up.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:30, Reply)
by your left wing beard you mung bean eating hippy

(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:30, Reply)
oddly I do have quite a left-wing beard, like an older Trotsky
But I do not think I've ever eaten a mung bean
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:33, Reply)
As a smug middle class fuckwit
my attitude has remained the same throughout, parents, schools, 'the system' has been too softand lenient for too long. This has bred two generations of people who have given up on how society would like them to live; ie suipporting themselves and their communities, thy have become entirely selfish and devoid of remorse for their consequences.

This last sentance all fits with the banking class; in fact selfishness really unpins how most people are wnakers, they mearly express it in different ways
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:28, Reply)
There was a woman on Womens Hour this morning
bemoaning the fact that the government won't let parents chastise their children. I couldn't believe they let her spout such utter shit wihtout just saying "No, you're wrong".

This is the trouble these days, too many fucking idiots who think the law extends much further than it actually does.
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:32, Reply)
retards
and with that bombshell where me an Al agreed on some politilolz I'm off home for a Fursty ferret!

toodle pip
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:34, Reply)
I have to agree to an extent
no point just blaming schools and the government. Parents have a role to play in it as well. As far as I'm concerned, the MPs saying things like parents should confront children who they think have been rioting and have new stuff, and take them down to the police station is ridiculous. Their parents don't generally give a shit which is why their 12 year old is out at midnight and able to riot
(, Thu 11 Aug 2011, 17:35, Reply)
I say we fire them at the moon
