What's that gonz? You've got another self obsessed and indulgent thread tonight? ANOTHER ONE? Wow Gonz, it's really all youyouyouyouyou isn't it.
My lovely purple microwave that I took out the box today is broken, so I'll have to take it back, probably on saturday. I put a microwave curry (tikka masala) in with some microwave rice (pillar) in one of my new oven dishes and baked it, with a couple of onion bargies and some chippatis in at the end, with a side of some mango chutney. I've finally found a wine I like, that I'm having with it, it's from ikea.

Today I got some really awesome stuff, I got few new shirts, trousers, jumper and socks, they're the biggest clothes I've ever bought and are tempary 'till I lose a few stone. I also picked up an ironing board but when I got home Ma' said my one is better and all it needs is a new sheet, but the new one is better than her one, so she's taken it. I also got a really nice purple bowel to put fruit in, a shower stopper-of-slipping-up thing, some really cool new chopping boards, a cutlery organiser, and...ermm.... I can't remember off-hand. I got some foody bits, got a fully stocked food kitchen now.

Tomorow I'm having a day off from all this, so I think I'll take myself down the picture house (is there anything good on?) and on the way back nip into Nandos. Ma' said my Mayer pots'n'pans arrived at hers, I can't wait to get in on them, they're oven and dishwasher safe.

Bloggity blog blog, tell me about YOU, whatever you want to say.

You're having wine from Ikea?
I bought a ring today off Etsy. Just plain silver and onyx.

As long as it's not halal I wouldn't mind.

I reckon anyone who's fussy with wine isn't gonna be my cup of tea anyway.
I'd rather be with a girl who'll drink an alchopop or two and giggle'n'laugh, than a girl who'll turn her nose up at some wine 'cus the price tag doesn't add up to enough in her head.
(, Thu 5 Jan 2012, 19:34, Reply)
It's not how much the wine costs, Gonz
it's whether it tastes like cat pee. It just so happens that more expensive wine tends to taste nicer. I'd be quite happy with £3 a bottle plonk if only it didn't taste like running my tongue through kitty litter..

Do you eat Salmon? One of my favorite meals when I was extremely poorly was...
... baby potatos, stem broccoli or aspagous, and shallow fried (with flour so it goes crispy) salmon... with mayo/sweet chili sauce mix.

I've really been into brussel sprouts mashed down with salt and butter recently, I can go through a whole bowl of them just on my own as a healthyish light meal.

I can't remember if it's "exchange" or "completion" which means it's 100% done, I think it's completion...
... but in my case there was a clause giving them a timeframe to move out which was further along than the completion date.
(, Thu 5 Jan 2012, 19:15, Reply)
ah, well the place I'm moving to is empty
so I won't need to do that
(, Thu 5 Jan 2012, 19:16, Reply)
Fabulous !
I totally recomend you get profesional movers, and if you're rented, get an "end of tendancy" cleaning company in so you get all your deposit back. Both of those were worth every penny, I've moved 3 times where it was just mates, some of them would even do all the packing too.

Remember all your utilities and financial commitments too, to get them set up before you move in and that most of them take a minimum of 1 full pay-cycle to cancel.
(, Thu 5 Jan 2012, 19:20, Reply)
I'll be moving myself
I'm only going a little way down the road and would feel like a chump getting other people to do it for me. Plus, I've moved a million times

I've got a big list of things I have to cancel/set up/change addresses on. I suspect it'll be a pain in the ass
(, Thu 5 Jan 2012, 19:22, Reply)
I guess it depends on how much stuff you've got.
Cool, most of them will try and grab you back, I made a mistake in this department, but I think it would have been best to do all the cancelations first and _then_ make the new ones, so I could take up any offers I got offered.
(, Thu 5 Jan 2012, 19:30, Reply)
Yo Gonz, did you get any action after that candlelit dinner?

(, Thu 5 Jan 2012, 19:34, Reply)
I went to buy a grot-mag as I'm using the neighbours internet 'till monday.
I was looking at them, saw one that I thought might be alright, comes with a DVD, DING DING, someone walks in the door. I redirect my raised hand to the homewear magazine, look at it for 10 seconds, puts it back. Then another ding and another ding, I'm looking at birthday cards now waiting for the shop to clear. Eventually after 20 minutes I thought "fuck this" and went home.

IR receivers. If you're serious about wanting to do something like that
I can bore you for hours with advice. That shit is kind of my deal.

Not IR, what a dick. I thought you meant a remote control system like Gonz. Standard def TV streams wirelessly pretty well, you wouldn't need to run a cable if you had some form of receiving box at the other end. Something some like WDTV might be able to do it.

I feel your pain as far as the clothes go.
I just bought three new dresses this week, in a frankly enormous size, on account of how I've gone all lolfatty in the last year.
I've decided not to bitch and moan about it though. I'll just wear the bigger size while I'm trying to lose weight again, and not be silly and try to force myself into anything too small so that I look like a complete slapper.

Also, do you really have to give your hand a candlelit dinner before it'll sort you out? That's some exacting standards, right there.

I just made a beef curry
I had 250g of cubed beef left over from Tuesday's beef stew so I diced an onion and 4 cloves of garlic, fried them in a large saucepan, rolled the beef in curry powder and threw it in when the onion started to brown, rolled that around a bit, added some cumin, coriander, garam masala and turmeric. When the beef had browned a bit I threw in a big teaspoon of chopped chilis, some tomato puree and umami paste, some chopped yellow pepper and some water. Then I simmered it for 20 minutes and served it with rice. Spot on! Although the beef was tougher than I'd hoped it was still nice, tasty and just the right heat.

Got another portion and the other half of the basmati rice for tomorrow as well.
