I didn't think much of the film tbh, and I've never read the book. Should I?
I am, however, laughing quite hysterically at people currently attempting to defend John Terry.

I thought it had a certain cinematic charm.
Visually I thought it reflected the prose and time rather well.
Maybe not the mood...

I either really like or really hate Christian Bale in films, never usually in between
In that, I just found him, well...dull.

I've recently discovered that I have three.

But I have all of Ellis's books and am currently reading Glamorama for the first time in years.
It too is funny as fuck.

you do seem to have a hard time with cultural matters.
You do know that it is widely taught and studied at university level? And is one of the most critically and academically revered novels of the 1990s? Maybe it went over your head a bit.
Edit
Assume you are referring to American Psycho? If not, I apologise in advance.

You do know that there are differing opinions
on the subjective worth of American Psycho? Just because a book is studied doesn't mean it's good or engaging. Buffy is studied as part of some courses in America. Doesn't mean it's a TV show which you have to enjoy.

I love American Psycho.
It is a perfectly executed satire which does very interesting things with the Body, the City, the Gothic, farce and vampires. To just dismiss it as 'utterly shite' is childish and philistine.

And how the fuck did you go from
"and am currently reading Glamorama for the first time in years.

and me responding that it is a fucking shit book (because it is) to thinking I'm talking about American Psycho?
American Psycho is the only decent thing Ellis has written, he's almost as pretentious as you, but American Psycho works because of the pretentiousness of its subject matter.

Don't dismiss salad cream as a base for a source for pasta, it's just as valid as using mayo, which is used in every sandwich shop in the country. I'm litterally talking about a coating so transparent that you can't see it.

There's a world of difference between sandwich shop use of Mayo and your use of salad cream as a sauce base.
Accept it, learn from it and move on.
It's alright PP, we've all got nasty, scanky stuff in our history.
The secret is to let go of it and move on.
Btw I still use salad cream, but only as salad cream should be used.
With boiled eggs etc...

Nah' man, I'm standing by this one. It's more flavorfull than mayo, but now it sounds like I'm building this up as a culonary amazement.
It's just a quick easy nice base for a sauce.

I've locked myself in my room. My two Chelsea supporting housemates are booking flights to Munich as I type. They've never been to a European game before, or in fact more than dozen Chelsea games in the last three years.

On the plus side at least Bayern or Madrid are nailed on to win it now. Bayern are my 'foreign' team, Madrid are to an extent too (I'm allowed to pick massive clubs abroad cos I got dealt a bum deal over here). I love Bayern beyond words, their whole ethos is class. I've got a couple vintage Bayern and Madrid shirts that are cool as fuck, one of them is being donned on May 19th.
