So anyone getting a new iPhone?
I'm not, I don't like iTunes.

I've got to say that I don't mind iTunes nearly as much as I thought I would.
I might do, it depends on how it's performing against the newer Android phones by the time my contract's up next year. I've certainly been pleasantly surprised by the 4S, the only problem being it keeps dropping connection, which drives me up the wall.

Do you have it playing music whilst you're gaming?
I've never done that. I guess that's probably why it's never bothered me.

Nope, it just randomly like to sort out my music collection or download updates without asking me.

I have a £7.99 Samsung. It works. The battery lasts forever.
I tend to prefer computers for computing, televisions for television, cameras for photography, radios for radio, mp3 players for playing mp3s and phones for phoning, so all these convergent technologies seem like a waste of time and money to me.

I have a 3GS iPhone. Does me fine. Don't see the need to pay a couple of hundred quid for a slightly newer version.
I also have an iPad3, which I like a lot, but my Lenovo laptop is the best. I don't consider myself an Apple fanboi.

There is a huge difference between the 3GS and the 5, I'm supprised your contract isn't up for it for free.
0o0o0h, you know that LTE chip in your iPad, that's gonna come in handy, Orange+T-Mobile (now known as Everything Everywhere EE) have switched on their LTE network and O2 are going to do the same this year. The odds are it'll be faster than home broadband.

Oh Bats, don't you have any technoboffins at work? You shouldn't need to sync outlook with your iphone. The two should never touch each other.

What I mean is I want the two calendars to sync, so I don't have to enter everything twice in to two devices.
(

Yeah', exactly, the two shouldn't have to touch, nor with your ipad or other devices.
It should all be handled by Microsoft Exchange (or similar). Ditto with contacts. Since the 3G, its moved on dramaticly since then, everything his handled server side.

You should definitely stick with your five year old phone
when you could get a new one for free.
What you could do is get the upgrade, keep the old phone and sell the new one if you really don't give a shit.

To be fair, if I time my trains right, it takes me 50min or soo, and I'm technicly in london.
And if I time them wrong, then it can take up to a couple of hours.
There isn't much difference for you there.

If you're serious, and I wouldn't have said this a year ago, think outside the tube but inside the train networks. You'll save a fortune and won't end up stabbed.

I'm getting one, and I'm out of contract.
I'm not sure weather to buy the phone outright and get a sim-only 12 month contract, or get a 24 month contract with O2 (no 18m for the iphone 5 =(((( ).
I think I might just buy the phone outright, it'll be £500, I'll get about £300 from my current one, and then get a 12m contract which'll save me about £25/month, and it would cost me £100 or soo with the contract anyway.
