Word of warning:
My boss’s wife used to be a teacher at a Montessori school – she is borderline illiterate and were I to be told she’d be teaching my child I would change her school immediately. Seriously she’s lovely but such an utter dunce that she’s only allowed basic functions on our sales system and constantly cuts and pastes our photography into emails to press, leaving us without a master copy. This has gone on for 8 years.

I've a copy of the whole image bank on my local drive which she can't access so when they go 'missing' (cue Groundhog Day esque bafflement like it's never happened before) I simply copy and paste a replacement.

Seriously she's got a very low IQ - if Montessori people hired her to teach others I question their judgement and I question it HARD.

My nipper (just started primary) is changing schools again in Jan. as our 1st choice school has expanded into a new site and now she has a place there. Hoping that's a good move. I think so as they are easily the best state school for miles.

Each term little tangle comes home with a letter from the headteacher advising us of how well he has been doing.
You know the sort of thing, standard template letter that they send to the decent kids.
Each time I cringe at the misuse of possessive pronouns in it.
I realise that it is probably written by the school secretary, but still, if you are going to sign your name on something, you should fucking read it first.

I used to know a carpenter who made 'learning toys' for Montessori schools.
I think the main thing they learn is how to fit the right shape in the right hole.
