I'd have added my tuppenceworth to QOTW this week but I have no photos of HMS (hopeless money sink) Nameless to share at the moment.
So - band you wished you'd seen live but didn't? 6 Music reminds me that despite their anthemic rants Sham 69 were about the most accomplished band of the era.

Mostly some of those grunge bands when they were still young. I'd see Pearl Jam now, but it wouldn't be the same.
Oh! I need to remember to brag to Gonz that I'm going to see Scrubious Pip sometime soon

Never saw them first time round but I love them.
Trouble is it'll be full of Carling drinking "ingerlund" types - the reason I avoided the Stone Roses stuff this year.

Regarding your post in the last thread, was that in Bierley the post-war estate or East Bierley the little village next door? Agents often lie about the exact location if it's near somewhere dodgy, like they'll often say places are in Shelf when they're actually in Buttershaw.
If it's the latter I'm genuinely surprised, I always got the impression it was Tory Central round there. Though the streets I was on about are a mile or two nearer the city centre, just by the ring road.

It's been fucked over big time - over-invested by small minded ambitious people expecting Chavford to make money.
You're between Holmewood and, I suppose, West Bowling.

One of the others is my innate altruism - you don't need to be subjected to me too much.

As well as the scene when bands like motley crue were trashing their way through venues. I've seen some of my heros live, including crue, and it was amazing, but I don't it would be a patch on seeing them in their heyday.

Saw them in a bar in Austen, TX in 1998 and loved 'em.

My best mate asked me to go see them with him, but I was proper potless. I know Berry was a noncey old perv, but I still wish I'd gone to see him.

Wouldn't have minded seeing Nirvana but I never had the money in that era.
In other news, I'm off up to the Midlands for a friends Birthday at the weekend, it's been on for a while but I got no reply to my "reply to all" saying I'd come up but needed a bed. Just texted and got a reply from my brother's missus saying, "That's fine, [brother] was supposed to text you but he forgot."
Okay, but this is easily the dozenth time I've had to contact his missus to find out what's going on. I suspect some passive-aggressive shit going on there. I think my brother's a top bloke but I am beginning to suspect the feeling is not mutual.

You are being too imaginative here. Maybe try rolling a 15 or more on a D20 then going larping after reading a lot. That might get you some IRL love and respect.
Maybe not though :'(

Wish I'd seen the Who, the Rolling Stones and the late, great John Fahey.

but I couldn't be arsed. Pity, as they're excellent and the venue rocks.

I may be a little drunk. I just watched 'The Watch'. I wasn't drunk enough to enjoy it though.

And I missed Disturbed at Download last year because I was so miserably wet that I went back to my hotel to get a hot bath and some dry clothes before getting back to the site before Rob Zombie came on.
Also System Of A Down that year, because I was right at the front of the stage that Alice Cooper was going to be on and couldn't be arsed to move to the other stage. Glad I didn't too, because I was expecting him to do the exact same show as Sonisphere the previous year and he didn't.
:D

A couple of months after little tangle was born Davy Graham played here. Having a small baby in the house meant that going out to gigs was not really an option.
I would really have liked to see him, despite reports I've heard since that he was long past his best - he died not long after.
I've still yet to see Dylan, although this is likely to be expensive and disappointing I'd like to tick him off the list before he dies.
