I also wrote to The White House and Number 10 about the treatment of LGBT citizens in Russia earlier this year - no response.

I once complained to the press complaints commission
I complained that the daily mail always printed a Muslim's religion rather than his nationality when a crime was committed even when his or her religion was not a factor in his or her crime, pointed out that they do not mention the persons religion when they are Christian or Jewish etc and suggested this was done on purpose to breed anti Muslim feeling. I cited examples and thought I had a point.

I got a response telling me I was wrong and that their religion was relevant and not their nationality because we say so , so fuck off commie.

Turns out the Press Complaints Commission isn't independent and is run by newspaper editors.
