@POD:
At least with the headings, you're taking a top-down approach so you can tackle each heading one at a time.
My preparations are for the August 23rd bash.
@Edmund:
When I went to Beijing, it was this time of year. It felt like an outdoor sauna. I immagine Hong-Kong is worse.

Now I just have to do the bits I actually have to think about.
Oh well, got cider now.

If so, cut them into wedges and boil for about 5 minutes. At the same time put some oil in a pan and out this in the oven to heat up.
Drain the taters and stick in the oil, chuck back in the oven for bout 20 minutes.

When I first bought some chips and the woman said 'do you want gravy' I genuinly didn't understand what she was saying. She must have thought I was a complete pillock asking her to repeat herself about five times in my cut glass accent.

I didn't buy the cream cake. When it's someone's birthday at work they have to buy cakes for the rest of the staff. Would have been churlish to refuse.
The curry was a fairly healthy one with quorn. No naan bread or other fripperies.
Edit - Mrs Bin...I am dual working and middle class so I usually call my meals brekkie, dinner and tea unless I'm speaking to someone posh like yourself.

Thankfully not...
but it was rather unexpected! He's still awesome though.
All you have to do is ask him.
I spent the first 5 minutes wandering around like a lost sheep, i remembered where to go but forgot that i didn't know what anyone looked like! Duh.
Edit: @Mrs g'on! come to the 23rd August bash. I'll be there, we can be n00bs together. ha!

At my first bash, I got there and knew what everyone looked like, but it was a large-ish pub and they were all hiding in the last place I looked. The added suspense built up my adrenaline levels.

Yea, i know what you mean. I spotted MM and thought i recognised her, but was too scared to ask "ARE YOU FROM TEH INTERTUBES?"
Eventually though, i realised that it was them, went over and they were all very friendly. Anyone who's not going to the 23rd bash out of cowardice, i strongly recommend it :)

A Cambridge bash is not to far.
I guess no-one would come to an Ipswich one for fear of being murdered.

And I won't know what many people look like, other than becky and hlt. And possibly a couple of others, but I can't remember who else is coming.

@Axai:
When I came for the last bash, I was priviledged to be greeted by Clendrix at St. Pancras Station before the bash. That was my first encounter with another QOTW'er. Did feel nervous and wondered if the customs inspectors at the Eurostar terminal would interpret my nervousness as an excuse to search my rucksack.
@Mrs Liveinabin:
There's a camping-bash in Northern Essex in September. I probably won't be coming to that bash but haven't ruled out the possibility.

I agree. Clendrix is awesome. So is hair.
BTW. I was not stopped by customs inspectors, but they have been known to stop me in the past. Maybe it was because I had longer hair back then. Customs inspectors just don't understand the potential for hair-awesomeness.
EDIT: Greetings Fredz. The nice thing about us is that we're free.

Oh man I am so very, very tired.
It was so worth it to go to the bash though :) b3tans are lully people and MM's dog is precious! Then I legged it back to Victoria and caught the last train to Dover with about ten seconds to spare, so am thoroughly exhausted and will head to bed in a few.
The good news is my references have passed, as have Mr Maladicta's, uni just needed me to re-confirm an address... so all is getting somewhere.

I actually posted on here from the bash via my phone, but it's gone an lost itself, so dunno what happened to that?
Bash was lots of fun, very chilled and a good build up to the megabash. Was especially nice meeting Axai, Maladicta and Clendrix who I'd not met before.
Glad you got your references sorted Maladicta, I totally forgot to ask you if you'd gotten anything sorted with them as I'm a bit rubbish like that.
I'm working tomorrow morning, so bid you all goodnight

Was lovely to meet all of you, I'm sorry I didn't get to natter well with everyone but there's always the next bash :) yup, I remember telling clendrix and wanderlust things are going slowly but surely - boss's reference needs chasing, and Mr Maladicta texted me at work today to inform me "my references passed, but your dim witted uni fucked up your address, can you call Connells and tell them?" so hopefully now we're all on the same page as 'twere.
Night :) and thank you too for the kitteh advice!
