Only ever had one on a steak tartare
I disliked both, I am pretty sure that Tartare is just done for stupid blokes to prove they can eat raw meat

Proper steak tartare, mixed with diced gherkin etc can be fantastic but only if the meat is really good quality.

Just didnt do it for me, I kept thinking this would be great grilled on both sides and popped in to a bun

It needs to have a smooth consistency like pate, that way all the seasonings blend in properly.

(, Thu 20 Feb 2014, 13:34, Reply)
I will take this under advisement

I had it a few times in Avignon.

d'Avignon.
Which, btw, is quite impressive.

Great for a weekend away esp if you fly into Nime, check out the amphitheatre, then get a train.

Food is outstanding as are the sights.

(, Thu 20 Feb 2014, 13:35, Reply)
I had it in belgum, but it was more of a paste than finely chopped, I was quite indifferent, i'd imagine that sandwich paste that poor people have is pretty much the same thing.
