Isn't it a bit early to stop the evening posts? Don't all pretend you have lives on a Tuesday night IRL.
There is nothing to watch on TV this evening.

What's the worst programme you've ever seen on television?

If you pretend to be a snob that doesn't have a TV, how do you spend an evening at home on your own?*

*Apart from with my mother or wanking yourself into oblivion.

(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 20:24, 127 replies, latest was 11 years ago)
Worst programme that I can recall
was Rushton's Illustrated, starring probably soon to be Yewtreed beardy actor / artist / game show panellist Willie Rushton.

Utterly appalling. And I've seen Crossroads.
(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 20:27, Reply)
Is Rushton still alive?

(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 20:28, Reply)
Wikipedia says he died in 1996.
So, yes.

Through The Keyhole*
* the non-porn version

Has to be one of the worst things ever broadcast. See also: Midsummer Murders, Murder She Wrote & Brookside.
(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 20:35, Reply)
I've never seen an episode of Midsummer,
have barely managed an episode of Murder, and my ex was a massive Brookie fan so I kind of watched it.
(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 20:37, Reply)
You mean you were glued to Channel 4 when it was on or she got the arse with you.

Most American 'reality' stuff is terrible in my humble opinion. I hate it.
There was one about cakes that was full of cheesy lines in the intro 'for me, it's all about the cake!', 'I've employed some of the cleverest and talented people I know - my friends!' FUCK OFF.
Weeknights I go home, eat, waste an hour or so on the internet whilst channel hopping before going to bed. I really need to move closer to work etc.
Tl;dr - you haven't missed anything.
(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 20:31, Reply)
prolly Friends, two and a half men or Bergerac

(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 20:34, Reply)
Aren't you a little young for Bergerac?

(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 20:36, Reply)
no, I remember it well

(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 20:40, Reply)

Musical theatre.
"I know him so well" was a duet performed by the erstwhile rotating weekly guest stars of the Two Ronnies, featured in a musical play, the name of which escapes me for the moment.
(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 20:44, Reply)
Musical called Chess. Had a song with that title, sung by those two.

(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 20:44, Reply)
That's the one.

(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 20:45, Reply)
If Dozer remembers Bergerac he should remember this - it was massively popular when we were young & Bergerac was on TV.

(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 20:49, Reply)
I think I may be slightly too young
I thought it was that milfy Sarah Brightman bird what sang that?
(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 20:51, Reply)
Are you deliberately taking the piss?

(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 20:52, Reply)
no
I know the song but can't remember it doing the rounds in the mid 1980s.
(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 20:53, Reply)
Sarah Brightman was the first female lead in Phantom Of The Opera, which was another piece of shite by by Lloyd Webber.

(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 20:56, Reply)
None of that shit.
My worth is all in the business which my son will continue.
I've saved but never a pension plan.
(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 20:59, Reply)
you've missed out on a lot of free money then.

(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 21:00, Reply)
Yer I aint denying it.
Had to make choices though...
Put into a pension or invest in the business. If I'd chosen plan A wouldn't have grown as much.
Not saying it was a wise choice but it's worked out ok and very secure for future generations of spikies.
(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 21:04, Reply)
fair enough
Pensions are only a part of retirement planning anyway, not the full picture.
(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 21:10, Reply)
I used to sell Scottish Widows 25 year endowments when
They paid out around 60% in terminal bonuses and mortgages had no arrangement fees.

Alright, titch?
I don't *ever* have anything better to be doing.

I think ITV's daytime schedule comes pretty close to being the worst television ever.
And their evening schedule.
And a lot of their weekend schedule.
Then they repeat it all on ITV2/3/4 over the net week and a half.
(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 21:14, Reply)

i saw some ITV at my parents house at christmas
it was just coronation street for hours on end interspersed with crime things

Evening all
I would like to nominate “Prisoner Cell Block H”
Oft in the early hours of the morning a bunch of us would come back to my flat to continue drinking and smoking hash sometime in the mid-late 80’s normally after “hitman and her” had finished PCBH
was screened is was so shit, it was great, the secure walls of Wentworth’s cells shook every time they opened or closed a door, Bea ruled the roost inside and Vinegar tits through the screws, it became somewhat addictive yet still utterly shit.
(, Tue 25 Feb 2014, 22:28, Reply)
