Who wants an update in the saga of the guy that got the job over me?!!
No-one? OK!

He's emailed me again because I didn't respond to their bribe. This time he needs to know how to migrate users in to his server via LDAP. I have been less polite and told him that I'm far too busy to run around teaching him how to do his job and suggested he contact his own IT department.

I am still confused as to 1. how he got the job and 2. Why they are contacting me when I don't work for them or for the company that provided to server they are trying to use.

ALSO! NO-ONE CARES!

tl;dr

I like these updates and I am enjoying seeing you cope badly with rejection.

Kill me

It's okay mate, one day you will wake up and the first thing you think about won't be your failure, it will be something else, then you will know you are healing.

(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:32, Reply)
It would certianly help me forget what a pathetic miserable person I am if they would stop phoning and emailing me
I suspect they're doing it on purpose and laughing at me as they drink expensive booze from fancy goblets.
(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:34, Reply)
That's what I'd be doing. So would you, if you hadn't fucked up the interview.

(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:35, Reply)
Email his boss. You've nothing to lose. Tell him that the bloke they've hired is taking the piss by contacting you, he's clearly incompetent & you'd be happy to have a chat about replacing him.

(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:36, Reply)
I don't actually want the job to be honest
its less money and they've proved themselves cunts. The only reason I went for it is their Staff Development program has money in it and ours doesn't

Then say you're only happy to help on an ongoing basis for a consultancy fee @ £75 per hour, working remotely to fit in around your day job, otherwise you'll stop providing free advice.

(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:41, Reply)
^^this

(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:43, Reply)
Oooo I like this!
Though this is Cornwall £75 an hour is more than the GDP of the county
(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:44, Reply)
Then negotiate the rate. If they need your help enough, they'll pay a professional rate for it.
Nothing to lose.

Nice name change

(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:51, Reply)
Thanks.

(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:52, Reply)
So someone hired an IT monkey that can't do IT?
Yeah that sounds about right.
(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:31, Reply)
Can't you just give him bad advice that makes him look like a cunt?

(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:34, Reply)
I did think about this
But [jeremykyle] at the end of the day [/jeremykyle] it's not his fault, he doesn't know me at all. He clearly being told by someone else to keep contacting me. I could attempt to fuck things up for him if I so wished, but he's moved from Bristol to Cornwall with his family for a shit job and I have no idea what would happen to the guy and his family if I were to play the cunt card.
(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:36, Reply)
That's not very far.
And if he doesn't know how to do the job he's been employed to do then it's his own fault.
(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:40, Reply)
Sounds like someone told a few porkies at interview, or on their cv

(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:42, Reply)
He's probably still on his probation period, so will probably get booted out for incompetence anyway.

(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:44, Reply)
It sounds like you must interview really badly and are too ugly for their company.

(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:34, Reply)
Pretty much
My face looks like someone tried to put out a forest fire with a screwdriver. Ask Swipe, she knows. She couldn't even finish her lunch.
(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:37, Reply)
I care!
Tell him about that fancy new development in Web based searching
(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:37, Reply)
Has he not gone through Lesson 1 in working in IT: Using Google?
I don't know how to 'migrate users to a server via LDAP' but if I typed it into Google I'd probably find out.
(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:39, Reply)
Just gaz PJ, he can help

(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:40, Reply)
Why is it called 'gaz' again?
I think I asked when I first started posting here but I forgot. I never use it anyway.
(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:42, Reply)
Neither do I really. And I don't know.

(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:45, Reply)
A bloke called Gary wrote the code.

(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:46, Reply)
Then I shall call it Gary, as I didn't know the bloke and it seems rude to refer to him as Gaz when we aren't even pals.

(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:48, Reply)
Then we wont know if you're sending a message or going for a shit

(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:49, Reply)
I'm going to send you a Gary......

Good choice.
People I hate it when people I don't know get all over familiar like that. I'd appreciate your stance on this and I'm sure Gary would, too.

If it were me, I'd probably respond, copy his manager in
to say "I don't work for you, stop hassling me." Of that didn't work I'd just block his email address. I do work in it, after all.
(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:45, Reply)
Well sir,
Thats exactly what I did this morning. I also told me boss that another company is offering me bribes in return for my support and that I felt they should know for the purposes of transparency.
(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:50, Reply)
I like it down this neck of the woods
Gizza job
(, Thu 5 Jun 2014, 9:52, Reply)
Couldn't you just tell him to switch it off then on again?
