And I shall start with a rant
Or two actually.

1) Bank cards, and the stupid strips on the back of them that you have to sign. I just tried to sign mine, using 3 different pens, and none worked. After 20 minutes, it just looks like a kid has got hold of it and scribbled on it, badly. ARGH!

2) Be internet. I just phoned them, and they're useless. After trying to order it online, which failed as apparently my house doesn't exist as it doesn't have a name. But it really does. So then I phoned them, and they were equally used, and kept trying to put extra B's in my name. 'Tards.
Finally seem to have got it sorted, and should have fast broadband in our new flat within 2-4 weeks.

Just started a new blog, which is way overdue. And I'm sorta nurturing ideas for a new business.

Baked potato tip
before cooking (always in the oven, never the microwave), coat the skin lightly with olive oil to make it crispy. Garlic butter also works well mmmmmmmmmmmm. Wrap in silver foil and cook slowly.

Good Weekend? That was two days ago, you can't expect me to remember that far back at my age.

I drove to the swimming pool only to discover that I hadn't got my swimming stuff - Forgot to put it in the car this morning.

By the time I navigated town it was too late to go back for a swim. Will have to go tomorrow instead now.

I cheat with baked potatoes and half cook them in the microwave as otherwise they take too long. Whack them in the oven for finishing off with olive oil. Yumyum!

Edit - loved the podcast Chickenlady. It's lovely to hear the stories instead of reading them.

OK if we're gonna talk baked potatoes...
My daughter and I do this:

Cook in nukerowave for ten mins
Stick in oven until just cooked
Using a big spoon, carefully scoop out the potato into a bowl
Mash potato with a little butter, seasoning and various ingredients (we've tried, on their own and combinations thereof: cheese, roasted garlic, tomato sauce, chili sauce, bacos, red onion, worcestershire sauce, chorizo, salami, sweetcorn... basically anything that goes with anything else)
Scoop potato back into skins
Ridge fluffy potato with the back of a fork to encourage a little cripsiness
Return to oven until cooked
Enjoy... and make sure you eat the skins!

damn... now my mouth is watering!

Tomorrow evening I am holding a cooking lesson for my sister.
I am teaching her to make veggie chilli. We're trying to teach her some rudimentary recipes for uni. I just hope she uses them and doesn't rely on take-out all the time.

She's a little on the chubby side to start with.

I do have three copies, Al. One on the system drive, one on the backup drive, and one in my brain.

The third option has a rather slower interface, I will admit.

I also have an external Firewire drive for audio, which is backed up to an internal 500GB drive.

I had a data scare earlier this year when an un-backed-up drive failed and I had to spend money to recover it. I'm not letting that happen again!

Baked potato...put in microwave for no more than 5 minutes, slather in olive oil and a tiny pinch of sea salt, put in oven for about 45 minutes for crispy goodness.

MrsL, re Wikipedia...how shit. Unless someone from here requested that names be taken off. Didn't take me long to put them on there, so I'm sure it could be done again, but not much point if they'll keep removing them.

Al...result on Wickes. I thought they'd so that, but so much more satisfying when you don't even pay for the postage and you're paid to write the letter in the first place :)

Chickenlady...bows before masterful reading voice. My brother's father in law has the perfect voiceover voice and has earned a ton of money from it in the past. How about doing that for extra cash? I have the technology to do podcasts, but hate my voice and don't think my stories are good enough, so sticking to posting my thoughts via plinky plonky instead.

Been there, done that, never again Al. At least you had an industrial sander when you did it. I did the whole thing by hand, but the boards weren't in too bad nick when I ripped up the carpet. Managed to paint myself literally into the corner though and slept on the windowsill with the windows wide open that night (doh!).
