Morning
Oh judger of manfacehair.

I have a lovely week's worth of manfacehair now, looking like a hobo.
(, Fri 14 Nov 2008, 8:21, Reply)
morning ethel.
Glad to hear you're nice and beardy!

I've been trying to grow a beard for a while now but it doesn't seem to be happening. :(
Being a girl is rubbish sometimes.

jiggly boobens to enjoy
(, Fri 14 Nov 2008, 8:27, Reply)
That's true.
But I can't really sit and stroke my boobs while I'm trying to look pensive.

lusty
you could

no one would complain :-)

we are having a children in need loud shirt day today. unfortunately my only shirt that comes near loudness is quite dark and flowery and happens to be my favourite shirt...

in other news, I went to sleep last night with a bastard of a headache, and woke up with same headache (pretty much had it all the time for a few days now) and I'm concerned my brain is damaged :-/

still it's friday! thank fuck!
(, Fri 14 Nov 2008, 8:31, Reply)
Theres
always time to try it Lustworthy.

I'm in a hotel in the rain. Its a bit miffy as I'm meant to be taking in a few sights this weekend :(

Sorry you've got a bitch of a headache.
I'm so happy it's Friday! I can already hear the pub calling my name.
(, Fri 14 Nov 2008, 8:36, Reply)
Morning all
I feel fucking minging, I fell asleep as soon as I got home from work last night and didn't wake up til my alarm went off this morning, at which point I was sick in the shower.

Now I've woken up a bit more I'm more than slightly puzzled as to why I actually came to work. Oh well, I have no paid sick days left, and I'm finishing at 4 anyway (and it's Friday!)

I might go for a snooze in the server room.
(, Fri 14 Nov 2008, 8:42, Reply)
thanks lusty
*tickles with beard*

I was in conversation with a friend/colleague yesterday and she had used me as a point of reference when her brother said he didn't like beards.

also realised that almost all my (male) friends have beards, and that I've inspired at least two of them :-)

Arsebandits
I was off yesterday and have come in to a load of crap today which is only an issue because of general crapness of the MRP software we use and the way it's been implemented. I'm exhausted and feeling depressed for a plethora of reasons and just can't be fucked with it all. I've also got a splitting headache and run out of paracetamol.

Hopefully that's my moaning out of the way for today.

Hope you're all having better mornings than me. Get well soon sam and vipros.
(, Fri 14 Nov 2008, 8:49, Reply)
Oh dear.
It does seem to be sick Friday today.
Come on then boys, let nurse lusty make it all better.

ooh lusty,

I feel super!
I have a job interview so I could be a librarian again - I'm in charge all day so nobody to watch my b3ta antics, and I have a mighty beard to stroke - otherwise known as the philosopher's g-spot.

Innit.
(, Fri 14 Nov 2008, 8:58, Reply)
@sword
Hope everything goes well at the interview. I'll keep my fingers and various other bits crossed for you.
(, Fri 14 Nov 2008, 8:59, Reply)
Cheers muchly.
But don't worry about crossing stuff. If you have your eyes, arms, toes, fingers and legs cross you'll get cramp, go blind and look like a dribbly spacker.
(, Fri 14 Nov 2008, 9:00, Reply)
But the 'dribbly spacker'

but I think I'll opt for Nurse Lusty...

I don't have a beard though, will you still treat me?

I'll let you stroke my newly grown manfacehair in compensation
(, Fri 14 Nov 2008, 9:06, Reply)
good luck swordfishtrombone
librarian sounds like an ace job!

I've also thoroughly enjoyed your tales of librarian times on here too, so it'll benefit us all if you get the job!
(, Fri 14 Nov 2008, 9:08, Reply)
Good Morning my dear people
How are we all this morning? I had a slightly long lie after yesterday's ridiculously long day, so am going to stay sitting in bed while doing work this morning. Yays!

Being a librarian would be ace. Think of the learning potentials...
(, Fri 14 Nov 2008, 9:10, Reply)
Only problem is
This is an academic librarian's job in an art college, so there won't be the usual gaggle of paedophiles and semi naked crackheads.

On second thoughts, my art college friend told me you could commit pretty much any unspeakably horrific act and call it an art project and you stand a chance of getting away with it.

But still, cheers for the lucks.
(, Fri 14 Nov 2008, 9:10, Reply)
Does being a librarian mean you get to read books and surf the net all day?
I could go for that, even if I had to wear a tweed jacket with leather elbow patches...

*strokes Ethel's beard*

For some reason I can't grow a convincing frontal beard so I have to shave it off to avoid looking like a 15 year old. I do have hilariously oversized comedy sideburns though if that counts for anything?
(, Fri 14 Nov 2008, 9:11, Reply)
It's not all reading books and enjoying tweed
Though I have been known to wear tweed whislt working in my previous library. However I can honestly say that librarians are the coolest, nicest people you could meet (so long as they aren't the high up boss type ones).

And I'm not saying that because I used to be one, they really are.

But no, we generally don't have time to read books but I got to teach a creative writing class in my last library, so that was cool.
(, Fri 14 Nov 2008, 9:13, Reply)
Sam
I find your lack of beard disturbing...

But sideburns are also teh awesome so you're forgiven.
(, Fri 14 Nov 2008, 9:14, Reply)
It's hereditary I think
My old man can only grow a small mid life crisis goatee, and he's a good 20 odd years older than me!

However I do cling to the sideys as evidence of my manliness, they're about an inch wide all the way down to my jaw line, and I haven't shaved them for so long the hair's about 1.5" long if I pull it away from my face. I have been considering dreading them for a while, don't think I've ever met anyone with dreaded sideburns (there may be a good reason for this)

But I wish I could grow a proper Brian Blessed effort :(

Cheers lusty for your non beard prejudice, I definitely need looking after today! I have horrible sweats and an evil stomach ache at the moment, hopefully I won't die before 4.00.

Captain, good luck man. I know a couple of bipolar types and the lithium is definitely a good thing for them overall. (one of them in particular keeps trying to take herself off it but turns into a raging mental every time) Doesn't seem to induce the never ending numbness that antidepressants do in my experience (I'm a slightly different sort of mental to you)

Morning KGB face, sounds like everyone's feeling rough today!

On the plus side, I share my office with a very cool guy, and we listen to loud music, all day.

So far today it's been Monster Magnet. I think later will involve Metallica, Johnny Truant and Sikth.

Yep that was aimed at you Penguin!
Open plan offices are rubbish - I've worked in them before and even when you've got a corner facing screen they're full of women discussing whether they're on a green day or a blue day, and talking about last night's Coronation St.

I share an office with one other person (sort of my boss. Sort of as in he thinks he is, and I disagree) and he doesn't mind me listening to music, posting on here and playing internet games all day. Much better!

Kaol - yeah tis a bit rubbish in places, I like to think it proves we're actually more intelligent though.

I envy your job Sam
But then, I'm a scummy student, and just get to work from home. Good times.

It's not anything to do with me, but my cunt of a boss is too lazy to do it.
Some form for a client, massive and confusing.
I'm just filling in the stuff I know, like "Telephone number".

Fuck knows what's meant to go in the box marked "Incoterm (EG: Ex works or DDP, or FOB etc)"
I put "Er... 12?".

Took me a minute to work out who you meant!
But yay! Glad you like it. I want one now, not 100% sure I can get away with ordering one 'for work' and chiefing it though as I don't technically need one for my desk based job.

I did take two 'broken' TFT screens and two 'obsolete' desktops home the other day though, it's just the laptop I'm stuck on how to acquire...

I suppose I was a bit foolish in thinking you actually wanted to do the work Kaol :D

I relocated my own elbow squint about 7 years ago. It decided to relocate properly last year at work. Sounded like a balloon popping.

A week on the painkillers ensued.

Morning Dok!
What animals do you have?

@BK & Captain - Ouch! I dislocated three toes a few years ago booting traffic cones about when I was pissed - took a 20 yard run up at one and kicked it as hard as I could, only to discover it was full of concrete and didn't move an inch.

When something hurts that much when you're shitfaced you know it's gotta be serious... I got two of them back in that night under the theory that it was better to attempt it when I was still drunk, had to go down the doctors to get the other one done in the morning though.

Broke a toe and a couple of metatarsals in my foot a few months ago when a friend kindly dropped one of these on my foot when I wasn't looking. I should wear my steels more really!

Hurtings
It didn't hurt at the time as I popped it in before any pain had set in. It then proceeded to swell up massively and become very painful. When I got it x-rayed the docs were pretty baffled. Still, the pain is gone now I just have a crooked finger to remind me of it.

Do you have to make sure they don't eat each other?

I've been thinking of getting a snake so have been watching lots of videos of them on the internet.

I tried for ages last year to procure a three-banded armadillo but apparently you need a license or something, even though they're commonly kept as pets in South America.
(, Fri 14 Nov 2008, 11:02, Reply)
Sam, that's because of
The Dangerous Wild Animals Act.

Such a crap piece of legislation.
You think "Dangerous" would mean vicious, poisonous or big animals... Oh no, it includes most animals you've ever heard of.
And then some that you haven't.
One of which is "The Pronghorn".

I've just been finding out how the temp's date went last night.
She's very hungover this morning and didn't go home alone. Good girl!

Sam
Not at all, they all have their own little houses, and the ferrets live outside.

Snakes are fun, but they need to be handled a lot or they tend to get bitey.

Armadillos are on the DWA list, bon't know why, but who knows how the government thinks, they took a fairly poisonious snake off!

I'm thinking of getting either a skunk, or a Europen Badger next.

My darling, darling b3tans,
I hate to leave you all, but if I don't, I'll be stuck here at my desk for longer than I need to be and that will suck. SUCK.

Have wonderful weekends. I'll miss you all terribly.

Hehehehe
I've just managed to mentally rickroll a colleague. He's just spent the last 40 minutes whistling the first few bars of "Never gonna give you up", swearing loudly and then starting again 5 minutes later.

How do? Off to the pub soon, happy days... and then trying to see if WoW has finally (after 3 days) finished updating so I can play it for the first time.
