Just been looking at the calender again, specifically at the Edinbash and I'm getting excited =D
Really looking forward to the drive up there and, if I can afford to buy one, wearing a kilt!

A kilt shall be purchased at some point. Plans also need to be made for lifts and hotels, to be fair!

I'm rather lacking in the planning department too. All I've decided so far is that I intend to drive.

Train or car to Edinburgh? I dunno, I can get company in either but you can walk around on a train, but the car is cheaper sharing petrol... and you can drink on the train. Ideas?

I like the idea of a car more, mainly because of sharing petrol money would be much cheaper than a train ticket.

Sometimes the scary girl from one of the offices downstairs tries to chat me up. I try and ignore her/run away, because her chatting up tactics consist of talking about manga, live action role play with swords and shit bands I've never heard of. She's also not, erm, easy on the eye.
She's just come into my office (I was hoping the force field on the door would keep such apparitions out) and given me a Christmas card. It is Gothic black (of course), signed with lots of kisses and includes HER MYSPACE ADDRESS AND A PHOTO OF HER!!!
If it wasn't nearly time to go home I'd be locking myself in the server room to hide, I'm telling you. *shudders*
Edit: I've just checked with a few other people and they're averaging about half the amount of kisses in their card, and no Myspace details or photo. I'm feeling very, very afraid...

Good luck with the karting V - I love it but I'm not that good at it for a couple of reasons:
1) I get WAY too competitive and end up overcooking it on a corner big-style while trying to outbrake someone.
2) I'm not exactly the slightest of chaps, meaning my power/weight ratio is quite poor. This massively hurts acceleration out of corners.

Maybe I should just make him another dalek cake, like last year.

You want to go and see a nice, wholesome act. Someone who can hold a tune and won't frighten the children.
George Michael comes to mind. He was such a nice boy in his Wham days, with his nice hair and nice friend that pretended to play the bass.
Personally I don't believe all that bent as a nine bob note caught trying to get a cop to suck him off nonense. It was just a phase.
He's married and has three grandchildren now, you know. Oh yes.

Don't do yourself down al. I heard it was at least a couple of inches...
Right, I'm off for a bit. Need to do some shopping.
( , Tue 16 Dec 2008, 19:31, Reply)

This morning, I got up. All seemed to go well. Had breakfast, checked to see if my washing had dried, wrote a few sentences for my latest QOTW entry, and finally got round to fixing the zip on my bag.
I had left just enough time to get to work on time, so I exited my flat and looked where my bike should be ... and ... emptiness. No bike to be seen. At first, I wondered if I had left it elsewhere, but then, I saw the lock. On closer inspection, it had been cut clean through. Some fucker's nicked my bike!!! AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Left with no bike, I had no choice but to take the bus. At least I learned that if I can see the bus at the previous bus-stop, if I jog, I can make it to the next bus-stop on time, but the bus spent ages halfway along the route waiting for the replacement driver to turn up. Thankfully, nobody seemed to mind I was late for work.
( , Tue 16 Dec 2008, 19:34, Reply)

I find that I can get to places quicker on bike than on bus. That just makes it worse.
I'm wondering if it's worth notifying the police, but I suspect stolen bikes are notoriously hard to track down.
( , Tue 16 Dec 2008, 20:05, Reply)

That really is a shit!
Mrs Bin, I take a bus or three every day, nowt wrong with busses!
( , Tue 16 Dec 2008, 20:08, Reply)

But I don't know if the police would even care.
I guess you could report it so you can get a crime number and claim on your insurance.
( , Tue 16 Dec 2008, 20:10, Reply)

Unfortunately, I never took out any insurance.
When I moved in, my landlady had a hook specially built that I could tie my bike to. She assured me it would be safe there.
The worse thing is that just 3 weeks ago, I took it into the bike shop to get my brakes and front-gear fixed. Thank god I didn't splash out on the full overhaul!
I've still got my sliced through lock. Is it worth using it for fingerprints/DNA?
EDIT: Greetings TGB and PB. Thanks for the sympathy.
( , Tue 16 Dec 2008, 20:20, Reply)

they asked us to check round it for cigarette ends and drinks cans, just incase they could get finger prints.

I get the bus and Mr t0ria cycles to work- his journey is 3 miles longer than mine and he usually gets there a lot quicker than me!
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but in my experience (which is quite extensive!) the police won't be that bothered about a stolen bike. You could have fingerprints, DNA, a photo of them taking it... unless you live in a nice low crime area. I don't!

Vipros - it's the game I most want at the moment, definitely! Completed all three on the PS2 so have been waiting for this for a while...
I've never been much into PC gaming (well, not since the original Prince of Persia!) as I can't be arsed to have to keep buying new graphics cards to keep up, and games are some of the most buggy software you can find, especially with SecuROM & that sort of bullshit. Easier and less hassle to stick to consoles IMO
