Why?
Why is it that every morning I wake up 2 minutes before my alarm goes off then fall back to sleep.

When my alarm goes off...2 minutes later... I snooze it for half an hour.

What is the best way of waking up when i'm supposed to. i.e. when my alarm actually goes off?

Set your alarm to go off 30mins earlier?

Pepper-spray yourself.

Move your alarm
Out of reach so you have to get up to turn it off.
If you're out of bed chances are you'll stay up.

This is the puppy.

This doesn't work for me
I snooze my alarm clock in my sleep then take it to bed with me. From this point I keep turning it off without waking up.

*sighs*
you turning things off without even waking up.

As you were.

Nope
Now the penny has undropped. I'm again confused. Should probably gaz you to work it out but my lunch is more appealing.
(, Mon 6 Jul 2009, 13:06, Reply)

Position a giant blade
above your genitals timed to drop at the time you need to get up. Guarenteed that you'll only ever sleep in once
(, Mon 6 Jul 2009, 12:57, Reply)
Will it be like dropping a nail down a well, for you?

(, Mon 6 Jul 2009, 12:59, Reply)
But after that once,
There won't be an incentive to get up any more anyway.
(, Mon 6 Jul 2009, 13:04, Reply)
Two alarms.
One on the other side of the room.

Stop being such a useless cunt and learn to function like a normal human being.

what I admire most about you al,
is that subtle, tactful turn of phrase that you have.

What I admire most about you al,
Is that you're a complete cunt. But a funny one.

Get up when you wake up.
If you know it's two minutes before your alarm, you might as well be up anyway.
(, Mon 6 Jul 2009, 13:05, Reply)
lazy
i do that, but i'm soo lazy, i decide that hte two minutes couldn't do any harm....

I've been known to use snooze from 6 through till 9!!
(, Mon 6 Jul 2009, 13:07, Reply)
I'm the same...
So I've got my CD alarm clock, then my mobile going off 20 minutes later.

I've then got the mobile on a 2 minute snooze timer, because all bar one of the buttons sets it to snooze. Gets very irritating very quickly!

Fer God's sake just go to bed earlier at night and then you won't be so tired in the morning.
Next problem I tackle will be global warming.

Dear BGB
I've noticed that the large quantities of fossil fuels I've been burning coupled with the massive deforestation which I undertook in the amazon basin in order to build homes, allow access to mineral deposits and graze cattle on poor quality grassland and my disdain for reuse of materials has lead to an increase in the concentration of carbon dioxide, methane and chloroflurocarbons in the lower atmosphere, this, in addition to this the large amount of water vapour released by my planes at the lower boundary of the stratosphere, has had an effect on the general temperature of the planet which is likely to lead to more unpredictable weather patterns globally along with potentially rising sea levels and a disruption of the gulf stream.

I'm concerned this may lead to angry wolves escaping from a zoo and attacking me and my friend while we try and get antibiotics from a beached oil tanker. What should I do?

I'll ask Al Gore.
He seems to have his finger on the pulse.
(, Mon 6 Jul 2009, 13:49, Reply)
I have about 5 different alarms for this reason
Including a really noisy, incessant one on the other side of the room. It won't turn off so you have to get up, but it does make me grumpy first thing. That said, I'm generally grumpy first thing anyway so meh.
