Wolverine was AWESOME
Deadpool still looked hot as well. In a creepy way. At least he couldn't ruin the mood by saying something stupid.

Which comic book/actor playing a superhero/villian would you sleep with? Or youcan suggest other B3tan pairings

0 points for suggesting V & Catwoman
100 points for suggesting V and the Penguin

Deadpool
wasn't in Wolverine? :S
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:23, Reply)
Have you SEEN it?
He very much is.
They ruin him from the comics, but he's a main character.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:24, Reply)
I have seen it
Wade Wilson is in it, but they butcher the story to turn him into Weapon XI, not Deadpool.

Bleh.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:25, Reply)
If you're going to be all pedantic
FUCK OFF
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:27, Reply)
Still called the character Deadpool though.
So she's right.

EDIT: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deadpool_(comics)#Film

Yeah indeed!

Who isn't Deadpool.

(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:33, Reply)
He's called deadpool
End of story
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:34, Reply)
The guy with the lips sewed shut...
From Wikipedia/Deadpool

"Nicknamed the "Merc with a Mouth", Deadpool is a high-tech mercenary known for his wisecracks, black comedy, and satirical pop culture references."

WTF!?
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:37, Reply)
*sighs*
They call him it in the film.
A lot of people who see the film aren't gonna be comic-readers.
As far as they're concerned the character is called Deadpool.
It might not be the SAME Deadpool as in the comics, but it really doesn't matter.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:39, Reply)
Stryker
calls him "my weapon XI" in the film.

Even the credits show him as Weapon XI. It's true that Wade Wilson does become Deadpool in the comics, but they amalgamated two characters into one, which became XI.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 10:06, Reply)
I think he's great, I loved "Two Guys, a girl and a pizza place".

(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 10:23, Reply)
I'd sleep with nearly all the female X-men

(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:24, Reply)
They're not gay.

(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:25, Reply)
Wolverine fo sho.
I have a thing for sideburns although you'd have to be careful when he had his hands down your knickers.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:25, Reply)
sideburns eh?
*waggles eyebrows*
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:33, Reply)
I thought the film was pretty shit to be honest
Gambit was pretty good, which is nice because he was always my favourite character, but they jammed it all together with no finesse, and left me fairly disappointed.

However, Wolverine's gf was fucking hot.

I'd shag Mystique. she's very flexible and can look like anyone. That's a no brainer.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:33, Reply)
It had lots of good ideas
and then it was put together in a stunningly bad way, and that STUPID FUCKING ADAMANTIUM BULLET PLOT "TWIST" I mean for fucks sake, surely somebody read these scripts and thought, errrr guys, this a) doesn't make a lot of sense and b) looks like a massive cop out, kind of like we forgot to include his amnesia until just before we started filming.

I enjoyed the film, I still think it's better than X3, but it should have been so much better.

And both of them are better than Superman Returns. Now that was a pile of massive wank. Bryan Singer, you're a massive, massive cunt.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:37, Reply)
X3 was guilty of the same stuff, but more so
you are right on basically every point.

well done.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:39, Reply)
Thank you.
I was in the Cavern on saturday night, and then in a pub called the Angel, or possible the Angelic.

We saw a band called Acoustic Ladyland in the Cavern. They were pretty good, but they were not acoustic, and only one of them was a lady.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:43, Reply)
that'll be the angel
I've not heard of that band. and haven't been to the cavern in ages. is the beer still expensive?

shame I was too busy to come and meet up really. a missed opportunity.

were you down on friday?
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:44, Reply)
No we drove down saturday morning
I would have come to see your band otherwise. Was it a good gig?
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:47, Reply)
yeah, not bad
we had stage invasions from drunk girls. we had an encore demanded from us, where we played a heavy tune about werewolves (only 3rd time we've played it ever) and I managed to break two strings at once while doing it.

I was satisifed because the set list we came up with mostly consisted of songs with ridiculous guitar solos
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:49, Reply)
Superman Returns was awwwwfffful
It's like they saw Batman Begins and went "Yeah we need to do the exact opposite of everything in that"
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:40, Reply)
Superman Returns
Was all kinds of shit.

Amazingly, it managed to be worse than Spiderman 3 AND Hellboy 2.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:40, Reply)
Hellboy 2 wasn't as bad as you like to make out it was
Spiderman 3 was also not as bad as people said, the main problem with it was that it was actually two films in one.

If they had separated it into two it would have been great. I hope Raimi makes another one the way he wants to, without too much studio interference.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:42, Reply)
Ok can we say
Superman Returns was very almost nearly as bad as Signs which we all know is the worst film in the history of the world.

Any defending of this film will be ignored
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:44, Reply)
the worst film in the history of the world is actually called
The Assignment. www.imdb.com/title/tt0118647/

Signs is dire though. no argument there.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:45, Reply)
I've not seen signs
I gave up M Night Shayamalamadingdong films after I realised they were all UTTERLY SHIT.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:46, Reply)
Unbreakable isn't too bad.
I enjoyed it in a strange way.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:48, Reply)
unbreakable is fucking dreadful

(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:50, Reply)
Why did you watch it then?

(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:51, Reply)
*shrugs*
it was on
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:52, Reply)
Strangely I agree with Vipros :p
Unbreakable was a massive pile of wank. I sat through god knows how long and they wrap up the film by little bits of text "the naughty man was put away"

"the good guy won a kitten and lived happily ever after"

SHHIIIIT
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:51, Reply)
You could see the ending coming from a mile off

YOU'RE ALL GAY.
*runs off crying*
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:58, Reply)
You're all wrong.
Pearl Harbour is in fact the worst film that I've ever seen.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:47, Reply)
IMDB
Currently rates this as the worst

www.imdb.com/title/tt0060753/

The plot is apparently "Gritty neo-noir art film about escaped convict Griffin and his friends, who ran all the way to hell... with a penny, and a broken cigarette. " which sounds awesome!!
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:48, Reply)
It is pretty shit
but you get to see lots of yankee dodle dandies getting shot by the japs, so it's not all bad.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:48, Reply)
I'd watch the attack scene.
But why the fuck did they think it was a good idea to tag that onto what felt like 3 hours of George Lucas-scripted romance dialogue?
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:50, Reply)
I'm not sure I've actually watched it all
I think I may have just seen the attack scene a couple of times. I thought the ending was crap too. I don't know if it's true, but it smacked of Hollywood staging to me.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:53, Reply)
Our opinions are different.
Now we must get upset and argue ineffectually.
Still... Comic adaptations... Ghost Rider. Need I say more.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:46, Reply)
*Gets upset*
*online*
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:47, Reply)
Not seen Ghost Rider
But it can't be worse than Superman IV. Nothing can be worse than that pile of excrement.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 10:21, Reply)
Nuclear Man?
You could possibly be right.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 10:29, Reply)
And yet
I still have it on DVD :(

It was part of a box set though; I would never have actually deliberately bought the piece of wank.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 10:37, Reply)
I liked Hellboy 2.
I don't know anything outside of the films about that universe, but I enjoyed it.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:51, Reply)
Mystique
And I'm a lady! But Wolverine / Hugh Jackman proper floats my boat

EDIT! Vipros, you beat me to it on Mystique! Pesky meddling kid.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:33, Reply)
I'm pleased they've done two of my favorite charactors in the X-Men films now; Nightcruwler and Gambit.
Out of all the super-hero films they've done, the X-Men lot have been my favorite by quite a long shot, I'm really really looking foward to all the films they're planning.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:48, Reply)
And i'ld quite like to see the Origans of Excabier and Magneeto.
It'll be great to see them working together and then appart again.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:50, Reply)
that would be good
in theory. might not work out like that though.

I think Iron Man has been one of the best comic to screen translations. Robert Downey Jr. is Tony Stark
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:51, Reply)
Yes!
I agree with this a lot. I thought the second Hulk film was okay, Tim Roth is good.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:54, Reply)
not seen it
I've heard it's pretty good.

I've seen snippets of the first....enough to make me not watch it all
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:59, Reply)
The first Hulk was awful
The whole trying to put all the frames in just didn't work
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 10:01, Reply)
That was a good fun film.
I never used to read comics, but I watched the cartoons when they were on. My favorite ones were when you would get 3 eppisodes of X-Men, all linking onto eachother, with the rest of the marval universe. But then the next day, you'ld get the exact same story from someone else's point of view; like Fantastic Four; in the Fantastic Four cartoon.

I would love for them to do some huge epic film that expands 3 or more films (maybe Spider Man, Fantastic Four and X-Men? Whatever, it doesn't matter), but it would be from each one's point of view.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:55, Reply)
I heard a rumour that they are planning this
it could be great
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:59, Reply)
Oooh!
Sounds pretty cool!

They're doing The Avengers films, right?
Which is... The Hulk, Iron Man, Thor and... Someone else, yeah?
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 10:01, Reply)
not sure
haven't heard about the avengers one.

have you seen the "Thor action figure rolling a joint" animated gif?

Here we go.

Captain America's the other one.
Damn.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 10:06, Reply)
OOH
I hope they make Catain America super gay
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 10:08, Reply)
He IS super-gay.
But they'll make him as cool as they can. Because of the America thing.
I still think they should make Taliban Man as a nemesis.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 10:19, Reply)
fuck me
I didn't realise they were making the Thor film, or a Captain America one!

sweet!
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 10:11, Reply)
Yup
Kenny Branagh is directing Thor, apparently.

The Avengers movie will either be excellent, or a total washout, but I'd still go and see it.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 10:23, Reply)
Awesome !
It has so much potential.

They should make the last one from the 'bad guys' point of view, showing them not to be some sort of pure-evil. That's the things with these comics, isn't it? That nobody is actually evil, it's just circamstance?
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 10:07, Reply)
There you go

Gambit
Way cooler in the film. I always though he was a bit of a dork in the comics. Brilliant character though with a totally intriguing story arc. Gambit movie with Michael Duncan Clarke as Bishop. Oh yes.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 9:59, Reply)
I always thought Gabit was eaither english or irish.
I'm pretty sure in the cartoons, there was a big thing about ireland, and I'm sure it was him.

Beast is another favorite of mine, and i've got a soft spot for Kelsy Gramer too.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 10:03, Reply)
Gambit was always supposed to be a cajun
kelsey grammer was definitely a good beast.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 10:05, Reply)
Ahhh

(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 10:13, Reply)
You could be thinking of Banshee.
He's Irish and often popped up in gambit stories.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 10:37, Reply)
And on the flip side
Rogue was awesome in the cartoon/comic but a massive whiney bitch in the films.
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 10:06, Reply)
