it's cold here too. :)
How's tricks pet?

officially the 2nd day of autumn.
and i'm a tad hungover.
and i'm having a day off.
and we had ribs last night, they were awesome.
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 9:29, Reply)

I've been to a few but that was the best EVAR. One caravan (still being towed) shattered its way at high speed along the barrier right in front of us and pulverised into little pieces sending flying debris all over us. There's nothing like having a caravan flying towards your head to cure a hangover.

I got 92%, so I'm now officially qualified to sell drugs. If I'd known that ten years ago it would have made me laugh. A lot.
I was surprisingly nervous before that exam, I'm very glad it's over! Now I just need to move on to phase two... bankrupcy... :(
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 9:59, Reply)

always a nice little thing to have, so wraps of heroin for a tenner?
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 10:00, Reply)

if you're not on any other medication and don't have high blood pressure, glaucoma, diabetes, or impaired kidney or liver function. Or stomach ulcers. Probably.
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 10:13, Reply)

Congratulations on getting phase one out the way. Does being a qualified drug-dealer make tackling bankruptcy easier? Are there any more phases in your Grand Plan?
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 10:41, Reply)

but it does mean if they decide to sack me at least I've finished my training and have something I can put on my CV.
Phase 1 - qualify, phase 2 - bankrupcy, phase 3 - sell some of my belongings and scrap the rest until I have an empty house, phase 4 - move to Ireland. Although that phase is under review at the moment as I am in the process of having an argument with the fella right now.
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 10:52, Reply)

but does that mean you'll have to sell everything you own?
As for phase 4, from what I've seen, you've managed to pull through in the end when this sort of thing happens - even if you were in it for the long haul. Perhaps the two of you being in different countries may put the distance between you that you need in order to heel the rift.
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 11:04, Reply)

but there are times when being in the same room, let alone the same country, would make everything ok. It's just difficult at times, and perhaps I've overreacted to something, but then I think it's understandable that I have... It's a woman thing!
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 11:45, Reply)

you may want to mentally step outside the situation and try looking at it from outside. Seeing that you're apart, this should be somewhat easier The best way to do that is to find a distraction to take your mind off it first, and then look at it again.
Needless to say, once you've completed the final step, if you're still together, the feeling of victory will be much sweeter than it would be if things only ran smoothly.
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 12:10, Reply)

but yeah, we do get a feeling of achievement whenever we manage to get through a problem without splitting up... *rolls eyes*
Being apart doesn't make any difference to how easy it is to step outside of things - coz you can't step outside your own head. In this instance the problem itself was caused by the fact that we're apart... it just isn't easy. Oh I dunno.
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 12:23, Reply)

But as I don't even know that much about the situation, the only advice I can give is that of someone looking outside. And yes, I'm aware this does oversimplify the problem from my perspective.
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 12:41, Reply)

It's not a bank holiday north of the border. Not that I take such things anyway.
And it's just as well as the weather's crap anyway.
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 9:22, Reply)

fear not my friend. It wasn't a bank holiday here either.
And the weather was shite.
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 9:25, Reply)

and it's miserable here too...
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 9:30, Reply)

They have a race meeting (bangers, stocks, minis, superbangers etc) usually once every three weeks or so, but the caravan race is a once a year special. Full contact racing is the best sport I know :)
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 10:16, Reply)

that's definitely close enough...
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 10:23, Reply)

but I'll let you know next time and meet you there if you want. Great place for a b3tabash in fact! By all means don't wait for me though - it's a good family day out, or go with friends and have a beer!
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 10:53, Reply)

i think it would make a perfect trip out on the bike!!!
what kind of time does it kick off?
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 10:58, Reply)

but it's best to get there at least half an hour before so you can get a good pitch. A chair to sit on, food and warm drinks, warm clothing and footwear, waterproofs, sunglasses and suntan lotion are all vital.
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 11:47, Reply)

think i'll maybe come in the van.
i'm fair excited by the prospect, like reet excited.
noisy smashy vehicular action!!!
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 11:50, Reply)

I love it when I'm making my way up the track and start to hear the engines throbbing and screaming in the distance and the commentator droning away, and then you can smell the petrol and burning rubber... A lot of the cars use V8s, there are some Suburu engines, one or two bike engines in the stock cars, so the noise of them all tuning up in the pits is like a big powerful mechanical symphony. Love it!
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 12:14, Reply)

i'm getting goose bumps think about the noise!
i really cannot wait.
i think i'm actually gonna shit myself with excitement!

i'm all over it.
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 13:07, Reply)

as I'm working overtime for the next three weeks, but if I'm not there enjoy it on my behalf!
Oh and this is the moment just before a caravan hurled itself at our heads. This is just after.
And here's one from the van race at the last meet, which I am sorry I missed.
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 13:27, Reply)

that picture of the van. Snork (the site photographer) said in ten years of racing he'd never seen anything like that. And he's seen it all! Check out his photography.

But I have no choice, I'm out all day. Outdoor for a lot of it until about 8pm. Then I get to go indoors and see my mate's gig. Until then it's tribute bands, beatles acts, booze, booze, picnic food, booze, and waking up with unexplained injuries. I may approach the Bootleg John Lennon as the Bootleg Mark Chapman. I'm definitely going to bottle Razorlike and So Patrol.
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 9:45, Reply)

LOL that just made me dribble coffee!
i went to a fancy dress years ago as lennon, complete with bullet-holes in shirt...
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 9:53, Reply)

I did nick it from a Half Man Half Biscuit song though, I cannot tell a lie. Other highlights include Cheap Purple, Antarctic Monkeys and Dire Mates.
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 9:55, Reply)

i can never remember tribute band names, which saddens me.
it's my aged brain, you see. i turn 40 tomorrow :-(

Reminds me of this house in Poland. I actually went there myself and spent 2 weeks camping outside.
Oh, and happy b3taday Chainey.
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 10:35, Reply)

A teensy bit hungover, and just off down the shops. Contemplating getting fry-up supplies.

Yesterday, I went on a walk in Epping Forest. The weather was reasonable enough and held until the pub-stop. Got cold and windy by our second pint.
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 10:49, Reply)

there's some nice woods behind ma and pa's place. if it dries up a bit. not sure if i can be arsed getting wet and muddy today. or maybe i'm just being a bit gay? i dunno.
( , Mon 31 Aug 2009, 10:53, Reply)

My legs feel more exercised and I'm no longer feeling exhausted at the end. Still, I'll not be going on anymore 20 mile walks - even if it's 20 miles on flat-land.
If by gay, you mean butch dyke, then go ahead and dress in a logger-jacket, become aroused and roll around in the mud.
