I'm going to see the Levellers tonight
Playing at the Tan Hill Inn, which is the highest pub in England. Then I'm going to drink beer until four o'clock in the morning (apparently) and sleep in a tent. I agreed to this when I was very drunk and assumed it would be a weekend thing and not on a school night, so to speak.

I am now convincing myself that despite being nearly 40 I can still hack the pace. Oh yes. I shall awaken as fresh as a daisy in the morning and wonder what all the fuss was about.

Any midweek debauchery plans?

I hated it so much
but I don't know why. I loved all of Chris Morris' previous stuff, I just found this to be dreadful. The bits that were funny were ok, the rest of it was just awful and I couldn't wait for it be over. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for that kind of humour.

I was embarrassed by the Cambridge crowd
who just stood there barely moving, barely shouting/cheering. I mostly go watch bands in That Big London these days and their crowds know how to show appreciation.

That said, J Mascis still can't sing and needs to turn his guitar down (damn, it was loud) but he can play it like a demon. Stand in drummer was great, they were good value for it. Top night. I got drunked most awesomely.

I saw Dinosaur Jr years ago at Whitley Bay Ice Rink
They were supporting The Jesus and Mary Chain, Blur and My Bloody Valentine on the Rollercoaster tour, and were, frankly, a bit rubbish. Which disappointed me.
