just general stuff about the house, quite normal. She died at Easter and I've missed her a bit.
As I woke up, feeling rather sad, I felt that little bounce in the mattress of a small body jumping onto the bed, and then the distinctive quiver of little paws walking up the bed.
I opened my eyes and sat up, but there was, of course, nothing there. Perhaps it was just a lingering sense impression from the dream. Perhaps.
Anything spooky happened to you lately?

Who knows what it is?
I do know that after my hamster died I used to hear her wheel in the night, then as I became more awake I'd realise it wasn't real and I'd feel so sad.
I'm going to be such a mess when my Tigger dies. I hope your dream was actually a little visit from Ellie though mate.

it would be in character for her to come and bother me in the wee small hours of the morning.

When I woke I told myself not to be so fucking stupid as you can't get giant marshmallows, only normal sized ones.

with a dog sat next to me while I was sleeping with evil looking green eyes from the camera flash.
My girlfriend swears there was no dog in the house and she just grabbed the camera because my balls were hanging out of my shorts (and certainly it isn't ours in the picture.)

Yes, right at this moment and it's slightly scary. I can hear footsteps pacing up and down the hallway, and a trick of the light made me see a shadowy person.
(, Tue 27 Jul 2010, 0:37, Reply)
have some ice. But do stop lurking.
It is rather weird. I went to get more ice, and the shadow figure is still there from different angles.
(, Tue 27 Jul 2010, 0:44, Reply)
Multidimensional, me.
At least let me get dressed. Your hall is a trifle chilly, hence the 'no thanks' to ice.
(, Tue 27 Jul 2010, 0:49, Reply)
a little chilly at night is about 24 degrees. Take a seat. How's it going?
(, Tue 27 Jul 2010, 0:54, Reply)
It reminds me of the time I saw a badger infront of me whilst walking home. I absolutely shat myself, planned to walk the long way round before thinking 'fuck this, I'm hard as nails' and ran at it whilst shouting "FUCKING COME ON!". It ran away and I got home in record time. I hope no one saw.
Go outside and do the same. Maybe take a frying pan or something though.

that's why people don't try and creep up on me. My first reaction is not fright, but violence. Arms flailing and attack

It was always when I was still half asleep, and I'd be still remembering a nightmare. One night it happened, And I thought I could see someone standing in my room, in the corner. And I couldn't talk, couldn't scream or anything. When I woke up in the morning I realised there was nothing there but it didn't stop me being all scared. :(
That's about the only spooky thing that happened to me.

the sleep paralysis. Awful that. Half asleep, half awake.
I don't believe in the supernatural, which seems to be why nature goes out of it's way to taunt me with things I can't explain
(, Tue 27 Jul 2010, 0:59, Reply)
it only occurs during REM sleep, which is why you can still think about your dreams etc. REM sleep is known as paradoxical sleep because, outwardly, you're paralysed (which is true, your muscles are completely relaxed and there is no muscle tension save for the muscles moving your eyeballs), but internally, your brain waves are fairly close to how they are when you're awake, your heart rate, body temperature, breathing rate are all elevated.

I did a bit of reading because it happens to me a lot. Apparantly it's linked to tiredness
(, Tue 27 Jul 2010, 1:07, Reply)
I've noticed that if I'm a bit sleep deprived, it's more likely to occur - but it hasn't happened once this year since I've gone on meds and gotten my sleep pattern back :)
(, Tue 27 Jul 2010, 1:10, Reply)
I've got insomnia, no obvious medical reason for it, but I get it quite a lot, plus hypnic jerks etc quite regularly. I know more sleep would solve it, but that's how it goes
(, Tue 27 Jul 2010, 1:12, Reply)
I get them a bit too.
I didn't have a reason for my insomnia either - it just happened.
(, Tue 27 Jul 2010, 1:15, Reply)
used to it, don't think I could function without it anymore actually. You get so much time.
Which I'm currently wasting by posting bad jokes on Sickipedia

I have a feeling next year at uni will force me to have a later bed time though.

I get back from my trip about 2 weeks before uni starts. Frantic packing will ensue me thinks.

December 9th 1980. My Mum popped into my bedroom to give me a shout about getting up. Then, in a rather quiet, sad voice she said "Noddy shot John Lennon." and left. The next few moments as I wrestled myself free from sleep's grasp were amongst the most confused of my life. Had my Mum gone mad? Had I gone mad? Or, was I having a bizarre dream?
Of course she'd actually said "Somebody shot John Lennon" but in my confused state the first syllable failed to register and my brain totally misappropriated the second. It took me about five minutes to get myself downstairs, and a further few minutes to rationalise my thoughts sufficiently to ask about what my Mum had said.
So, for a short while, as the world grieved I was busy thinking that it was Noddy that did for him.
