just got back from Tayyabs
My cow-orkers gave me top marks for picking it. I had the lamb chops to start, which were ok. The dry meat main was fabulous, though. Impressive how they got us in, fed and out in 50 minutes - loads of people waiting as we left explained that.

So cheers, Al and Monty, for going on about it so much!

damn you for posting when I was just about to
so I shall use your thread, anyway:

Can anyone recommend/tell me something useful to help buy a new monitor. Since I do photography and stuff it needs to be pretty good at reproducing colours. Because I am stingy it needs to be fairly reasonably priced

message ends

glad you had a nice meal

Something reasonably big
And something bright. My 19" second monitor is ok for looking at my photos on, but a 22" would probably be better, if it was higher resolution anyway. Mine runs at 1440x900. Also, if you can get one that swivels so you can looks at portrait shots properly it would be pretty useful.

this sounds like good advice
I don't understand widescreen, portrait would be better. Who makes them then?
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 21:43, Reply)
Buy a widescreen.
Turn it sideways.

The lamb chops were okay? OKAY?
The lamb chops are fucking superb! But you should have had some lamb chops, two or three seek kebabs, a paneer tikka, a small dry meat and a small karahi chicken and a couple of naans.

FUCK OFF!
You don't go to Tayyabs and eat fucking vegatables, unless they are lentils or chickpeas.

It's John and Yoko naked protest time at the plight of curried veg, methinks.
I'll book the Travelodge, you organise the press.

Will you pretend to be related to me as well?
It's almost a year since we last saw each other, so I can do the whole long lost sibling shtick if you like?
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 21:29, Reply)
I like how long lost siblings behave.

bloody hell fatso
4 huge lamb chops were plenty as a starter, and they were just alright. *shrug* And we had 2 rice and 2 naan between us - which was plenty since I had very little rice what with the dryness.

Everything my colleagues had they loved, and I'd definitely go again if only to try some of the other stuff.
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 21:27, Reply)
Awwww, you never order rice at Tayyabs, that's a schoolboy error.
You add yoghurt or chilli sauce to the starters too. Mmmmmmmmmm. I can feel my sphincter burning already.
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 21:31, Reply)
No, that's the chair leg that I am forcefully ramming up your Lubbock.
Now, get in that fucking swimming pool, boy.
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 21:34, Reply)
this isn't my first rodeo
I always use the minty yoghurt on the starter, that's Curry 101. Definitely a top meal, even if our tastes differ on the starters.

(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 21:55, Reply)
Peshwari = fail on account of the raisins.
Keema = win on account of the minced up lamb. Simples.
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 21:56, Reply)
plain
just appreciate the lovely naanness
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 21:57, Reply)
In tayyabs this is definitiely the case. They make seriously good naan

(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 21:57, Reply)
Keema naan are fantastic.
Keema naan are fitter than your wife.
(, Tue 14 Sep 2010, 21:57, Reply)
