Being able to buy better clothes is much better though. I can buy things in a medium these days rather always having to get extra large. It's great.

but the question I was responding to is the assertion that men are more attracted to thin women. That personality is very low down the scale if you are overweight- it becomes a thing of derision rather than attractive.

I speak from the experience of having been a size 14 at one point, and a size 10 at another. Also interesting when I was about a size 8 or even less due to illness, and looked absolutely terrible I still got quite a lot of attention from people asking me out
