This is a question Prejudice

"Are you prejudiced?" asks StapMyVitals. Have you been a victim of prejudice? Are you a columnist for a popular daily newspaper? Don't bang on about how you never judge people on first impressions - no-one will believe you.

I'm no genius in the world of grammar, but am i the only one who gets pissed off at the constant use of the wrong version of "there" being used on forums, blogs etc.
There are three different versions for a reason.
I just wish the lazy fuckwits would learn how to use them. cunts.
(, Fri 2 Apr 2010, 18:42, 24 replies)
thank you.
clicky.

Yes
Also, 'pacifically'.

And apostrophe's on plural's.
(, Fri 2 Apr 2010, 18:50, closed)
I see what you did there...

(, Tue 6 Apr 2010, 13:07, closed)

I also wish fewer people would use the word 'less' when they mean 'fewer'.

Wankers.

Five items or less
less what? Coherent?
(, Fri 2 Apr 2010, 19:23, closed)
Capital letters
also exist for a reason.
(, Fri 2 Apr 2010, 19:20, closed)

Consider, if you will, the difference between these two lines:

I helped my Uncle Jack off a horse

I helped my uncle jack off a horse

Well, I do see your point.
But to quote a certain bloke who was quite light-of-foot on the old water- "Don't try and help a person with a speck of dust in your eye until you can see past the plank of wood in yours".
(, Fri 2 Apr 2010, 22:11, closed)
More random...
...but there are also three words - 'peek', 'peak' and 'pique' - none of which remotely overlap. And this board's not the only place I see people fucking that up.
(, Fri 2 Apr 2010, 22:14, closed)
Agreed
They're is no reason for it.

'Should of' instead of 'should have'
I keep seeing 'should of' instead of 'should have' - sometimes in the more august broadsheets. If they won't defend proper grammar, who will?
(Goes back to growling into the Telegraph)

anybody who replaces
have with of after a modal should have all genitals severed/mutilated by a rusty-chainsaw-wielding spacker.

I used to teach this to children - anybody who used of instead of have was sent into the babies classroom, and made to sing and dance (for everyone's amusement - an english academy where the walls were all made of glass)
(, Sat 3 Apr 2010, 11:24, closed)
You should really capitalise "I"

He should put his own grammatical house in order.
Once he has this sorted, then he can lob bricks covered in the flaming pages of the OED.

and Your You're and, I guess, Yore.

Bit late in the game,
but there's one common misspelling of a particular word that makes me loose my mind.
(, Sun 4 Apr 2010, 14:56, closed)
Well...
Are you gonna let lose with the word then?

Oh this is fun...
(, Tue 6 Apr 2010, 13:09, closed)
