The weekend is nearly over
What have you achieved?

We went to church! It was a bit odd. Won’t be doing that again in a hurry.

Ran a half marathon and ate a massive pizza
Not at the same time before you ask
(, Sun 19 Jan 2025, 20:17, archived)
Nice
What time? For the run, not the pizza
(, Sun 19 Jan 2025, 21:49, archived)
i still haven't had a drink
go me

Celebrate with a drink
Wait. No…
(, Sun 19 Jan 2025, 21:55, archived)
Disappointingly little.
The older I get, the more I think that two-day weekends are a rip-off. You barely have time to feel off work when you have to get back on it again.

I was going to go swimming this morning but I got high I got up too late. I did write a 700-word short story yesterday, basically because someone called me out for being a lazy git.
(, Sun 19 Jan 2025, 20:56, archived)
That sounds good

(, Sun 19 Jan 2025, 21:50, archived)
I've had worse weekends, on balance.

tl;dr

Reading's so challenging, isn't it?

next tuesday

Sleep, breakcore, nearly got a civ6 domination victory on deity mode.
There's still time, but I'm worried about the Aztecs getting to Mars first.
(, Sun 19 Jan 2025, 20:57, archived)
I have no idea what any of that means but that’s not important
Sounds like fun.
(, Sun 19 Jan 2025, 21:54, archived)

Sleep: not being awake
breakcore: whacky/quirky/odd dnb music.
civ6: Civilisation VI, a computer game. You probably played civ1 or civ2 in the beforetimes.
(, Sun 19 Jan 2025, 22:22, archived)
Ah, I think you've misinterpreted garolds response as suggesting that he wants to know what all that means.

(, Sun 19 Jan 2025, 23:09, archived)
haha yeah

(, Sun 19 Jan 2025, 23:24, archived)
Bought a car, went way over anticipated budget but what the hell.
I would overshare here but then everyone could pinpoint the vehicle, so fuck that.

The mods won't stand for it

I've been modding my tesla

There's a cybertruck that parks across from our lot
it's been bothering me because it's been almost reminding me of something every time I see it.
I finally figured it out; it's Kryten's head, specifically the angular bit at the top of his head.
In that spirit, I hope your car gets droid rot, and that it's as unfunny as it was on Red Dwarf.
I'm still in awe of you because of your job though, It must be so gratifying to announce it when people ask "what you do".
(, Sun 19 Jan 2025, 23:42, archived)
"dunno lol"

(, Mon 20 Jan 2025, 6:28, archived)
It's a small, off-duty, czechoslovakian traffic warden

(, Mon 20 Jan 2025, 9:58, archived)
Thanks. I guess I've forgotten what that feels like.
It used to be cool when I was a junior doctor to tell people what I did for a living. Now my profession has been so vilified by the press and successive governments here that outside of work I avoid telling people what I do as it just attracts complaints about how hard it is to get an appointment and how useless GPs are today.
(, Mon 20 Jan 2025, 23:21, archived)
Give em the finger, you know which one.

(, Tue 21 Jan 2025, 14:08, archived)
Missed you mods but you won, nothing harmed you.

(, Sun 19 Jan 2025, 23:34, archived)
Cheers mongy. Honestly my real worry was getting swatted
irrational I know but I had a bit too much going on here at the time. All good now.
(, Sun 19 Jan 2025, 23:47, archived)
Yeah chill, I won't turn up for years yet

(, Mon 20 Jan 2025, 0:27, archived)
Welcome back

(, Mon 20 Jan 2025, 16:52, archived)
I'd show some interest but car chat is death.

Was thinking of asking Rob for a separate exclusive /tesla board for all us tesla owners

imagine how much damage you could do if you wanted to kill this place

(, Mon 20 Jan 2025, 7:22, archived)
Is it that distinctive?

(, Sun 19 Jan 2025, 21:56, archived)
It's red with poka dots

Brace yourself

(, Sun 19 Jan 2025, 23:44, archived)
Surprisingly, yes.
Apparently not many of that model come up for sale, so it's in the top Google results. I'll probably bore on about it once it's dropped off the internet.
(, Mon 20 Jan 2025, 6:34, archived)
Honda Accord?

(, Sun 19 Jan 2025, 23:06, archived)
Actually did buy a Honda Accord in New Zealand 7 years ago.
Just needed a vehicle for a couple of months, and that came up. Best Β£900 I ever spent, and sold it for the same price in Aukland after 6 weeks, result

Set up a laptop to run a version of WS2K8R2E
along with a few massive external HDDs, which I now use for watching (via SMB) my enormous dubiously obtained movie collection

Next weekend I'll try and buy a copy of WS2K3R2S/E

Been to stay with the wife’s family.
Managed not to say anything about the copy of the Daily Mail with actual fucking Hitler on the front page, or when they started playing a short video on Facebook where some Reform UK walloper was banging on about some shit. I just left the room.

Patience of a saint, me.
(, Mon 20 Jan 2025, 0:24, archived)
they were probably hoping you'd leave the country instead

(, Mon 20 Jan 2025, 2:21, archived)
Absolutely nothing
Mental 1 was with mental 2 and my parents were away, so I stayed at home and watched shark films all weekend.
