*I say friend, more of a chaotic collaborator. I helped him organise clubs, shows and gigs back in the late 90s and early noughties. We did an Alternative Miss World at The Hippodrome with Brian Eno. Fun times though there was as much chaos and ego as there was amusement to be had.
Anyway, he's hanging around with David Starkey and organising parties now. I can't help but think he's mainly in it for the offense and to wind people up as some kind of performance art - he does love seeing his name in articles...
Have any of your friends ended up in the papers?

Defended a notorious child murderer in their criminal trial.
So yeah, his name was in the papers.

a very distant one, but this was when we were both teenagers. I'm very grateful to him though as my gran's take on me was "well, as long has he doesn't rob a bank..." so it was a low bar to achieve success.

Has been in and out of detention and jail since he was 12. Muppet isn't very good at being a thief.

and then it was allegedly covered up. There are various groups "seeking justice" for him (by posting on Facebook, apparently), but it all seems like 99% speculation and I reckon it was probably just a sex/drugs thing that went wrong.
I hadn't met him since we were kids, he was intense and weird and quite scary. One time he was visiting we built a lego house. I pointed out that there were no doors or windows but he insisted on continuing, packed it full of lego people and when it was finished he triumphantly declared "time to knock it down!" and started punching the shit out of it.

It takes no effort to find a group of people on Facebook role-playing as amateur PIs trying to find out the "truth"

N.B. the 'cover-up' aspect of it quite possibly is true: the pathologist who said he died of an asthma attack was the same one who said that Stuart Lubbock "drowned" a few years later. I just don't think he was murdered by a group of sinister and powerful men, as a lot of people seem to think. He probably just asphyxiated in a balloon-head device after having his pubes shaved off.
