Ophiocordyceps unilateralis more horrifying than previously thought
It doesn't take over the brain of the ant, it leaves that untouched, trapped in a fungus controlled body

Not entirely the case. I think this is a bit exaggerated.
The research is implying that towards the final stages the fungus exerts control over the muscles to make them contract and lock the ant in its new position; not that it's smart enough to operate the leg muscles like a puppeteer and make it walk up a stem.
And it doesn't need to infiltrate the brain directly; just supply the right chemical signals to make the ant change its behaviour, and it can do that from anywhere in the body. Ants are particularly prone to responding to each other's or a queen's chemical signals already, however suicidal that behaviour might be. They will happily follow their own trails round and round in circles until they drop dead from exhaustion.

I watched the BBC night news in the day of his disappearance
And their defence correspondent Frank Gardner had just left him. He didn't seem at all worried and stated that although he was in a dangerous area where the isolated tribe can be violent he was capable and had probably got caught up in a ritual which he felt obliged to attend. He was implying "calm down, he's fine"

I often think back to simpler times,
when Gordon Brown our esteemed Prime Minister claimed to be a big fan of Little Britain. I couldn't decide what annoyed me most about said claim, its implausibility or, if true, the fact that it indicates a dire taste in comedy. Either way, that show would never get the green light today, for all manner of reasons.

I don't think any moral condemnation was implied
When you say "Why do people think they can do this?" it surely couldn't refer to the act itself, as thousands if not millions of people do similar without consequence at all, and it would be odd if you found his minor bitching somehow repugnant seeing as though you seem to constantly engage in online criticism and putdowns yourself, please spare me asking for examples
It seemed more likely that you were refering to his foolish belief that his previous trolling would could go undiscovered in a senior position, perhaps a fair point of misjudgement but hardly a moral condemnation. Either way it wasn't "pretty obvious" as your rather schoolboy argumentative ploy asserts "I underestimated links, they are no match for my collosal intellect. And whatever you say bounces of me and sticks to you"

Also, you know, I didn't actually believe he got his wife dancing on stage again for about three tours.
I mean, he had his daughter Calico doing it for Brutal Planet, Dragontown, (Damn she looked good as a zombie Britney Spears) Eyes and Last Temptation, and then when he started to introduce Nurse Sheryl again I just assumed it was some new dancer, nope it's really Sheryl Cooper.

You know what planearm?
I actually gave up on Alice for a couple of tours, kept buying the LPs, but refused to see him live because I reckoned he was past it. This was after the Dragontown tour, which was the exact same stageshow as Brutal Planet apart from two songs. There were three medelys, two extended drum solos and he spent about 45 minutes of the two hour show offstage. Then had the fucking liberty to come back on and do a few fucking star jumps as a "LOOK HOW FIT I AM!" before covering a Who song. I said at the time "Fuck this, I paid to see Alice fucking cooper, not his hired band play instrumentals and then a fucking Who song. If I want to see the Who I'll go see the fucking Who.
Couple of years later I'm at a festival. Crushed down the front to see TWISTED. FUCKING. SISTER. After them I'm going to go to the other stage to watch System Of A Down. TS finish and I'm just about sober enough to realise I'm never going to get from where I am (Smooshed up against the front barrier) to the main stage in time to get a decent view. On comes Alice with his new show.
Fucking LOVED it. And he's had the decency to put on slightly different shows every year since. HUZZAH!

I know I may come across as a bit Karl Pilkington saying this, for those that have listened to the podcasts...
... but perhaps we've got to the stage where we've created everything that we need to for Christmas? Do we really need to go this far? My wife said she saw cranberry toilet bleach in Tesco. Every year Jamie's come up with yet more recipes for Christmas. Christmas dinner, Christmas pudding, sweets and booze. Why push the envelope every fucking year?
Humbug, etc.

yes
They are really pushing the boat out for this one. Vince cable is sent back from the future with all the knowledge that entails, fitted with cybernetic parts, in order to stop brexit.
Unfortunately he is sent to the wrong country, and after brexit. And all the knowledge about the past is related to brexit and how to stop it. Of course he sounds exactly the same, banging on about how it could have been stopped if he had the chance.
This leads to hilarious escapades with Deadpool where the old politicians knowledge of internal british politics thwarts Deadpool at every turn.
It is like a more violent and funny version of "Yes, minister"
