Can I just say I always thought the Smiths were a bit boring and shit?
And that Morrissey was never anything more than a prancing tit. Not for saying racist things, but for writing dull songs then singing them smugly, with a voice limper than Julian Clary's wrists.
But now everyone (including die-hard Smiths' fans) seems to be jumping on the "Morrissey is a bellend" bandwagon, as though that wasn't already obvious in 1982, despite it all clearly being another of his desperate grabs for attention.

I quite like The Smiths
But I also think Morrisey is a bellend. I don't lose sleep over it though.
I actually quite like Lost Prophets' earlier stuff, too. It's a bit fickle to automatically hate a band's output just because you find out the lead singer is a raging child molester. Wouldn't wear their t-shirts, mind.

However bacon is always in a different aisle. Clearly some ploy to make you buy cream and cheeses. Both which need to be passed on the way to the bacon.

I do disagree with his ideas on free speech a bit
There has to be a limit on what we allow to be spread in the media. When it gets to the level of hate and incitement that is expressed in the daily fail etc then even the person who promotes press freedom the most should see that at some point it becomes hurtful to the public and the public discourse that would enable us to move forward and reduce hate and violence. If they look at the situation honestly and not through a fundamental attitude where anything said by the press is OK then they will see this.
If freedom of speech means people can promote hate and violence towards sections of the public then at that point it is not something that should be protected. Freedom of speech and freedom of the press should only protect speech which is not hate speech, and does not incite violence or hatred toward any section of society.

you would realise I was calling for the laws and the enforcement of them to be strengthened so by now they would have been.
Jimmy Saville was never convicted of anything either. Just because people have not been convicted of something does not mean they are not guilty of breaking the law.

The most suitable emotion for people like this is pity.
To find true happiness, you need to make as much sense of the world as you can. Wealth alone isn't a bad thing, but when you're trapped in a bubble where it defines you, you're heading for all sorts of trouble, very quickly.

I'm not 100% sure
I mean, there's a lot of dodgy stuff there, but the legit stuff is also really cheap.
It all comes from china, and i think it must be direct from the factories so you essentially get it at almost production cost.
I've actually bought a fair bit from there, it's pretty hit and miss. For example i bought a Dr Strange time stone necklace, it was like £5 inc shipping, and was pretty awesome quality.
Then another time i bought a Stargate necklace from there and it was like a couple of mm circular necklace with some crap printed image under some resin.
How they ship from china to UK at almost no cost though. Not a fucking clue.

It's a bit like Amazon, with all different suppliers selling stuff.
A lot of it is fine, but sometimes there's rip off merchants that you have to look out for. The usual tricks are pictures of expensive things with 'keyring only supplied' in small print. You also just have to be sensible. If it's offering something like an iPhone or smart watch for next to nothing, if obviously going to be fake. The shipping also takes ages as they use the cheapest possible shipping which is where they money is really made. You pay $2 to ship something, they pay maybe 80c to send it, but I've only ever got exactly what I paid for from it.

Getting your family out of the car in drive-through safari parks must be a step in the right direction.

Transparent Wankel
Ever wondered what a Wankel rotary engine looks like inside while it's actually running?

Like having an angry wasp in my ear.
Delightfully simple little engine, I've only seen an old Zundapp one before IRL.

Yes,
and the old BMW M1, The Mazda RX7 were the most common I believe and interestingly (for me at least) a selection of Norton bikes
(Edit-sorry, having actually watched the video now I see it mentions the above)

I stand corrected
I don't know why but for some reason I had always thought it was their only foray into Wankel usage.

They might well have a couple in there.
Miniature wankels are sometimes used in seatbelt pretensioners.

The charge drives a tiny little wankel motor.

TIL
Still can't get my head around how that would operate though, or why it would be considered better than an explosive in a piston.

At a guess
It acts on the spool, therefore a Wankel is actually a great choice because you're getting rotational energy out, with presumably far more torque than a mini turbine.

How they work is easy.
Instead of putting fuel+air in you just use compressed air. With Wankels you don't have any valves to worry about. It's the same basic principle as a steam engine, where all you're interested in is having a ready supply of a high-pressure working fluid and you're not especially bothered about how the energy gets put into it.
As to why, I imagine it's though the force is spread over a comparatively longer time rather than all at once, which might hurt the passenger more than the crash would, and they may be cheaper to recharge than the piston kind.

So it’s an external gas generator, using the wankel rotor as a turbine?
I’m still puzzled by the whole concept as that means the suck and squeeze phases don’t happen, the bang phase becomes the power phase, and blow carries on as normal. You’d need to vent the first half of the chamber to prevent any compressive resistance.

good fact!
We need to know which cars use them because it would be awesome trivia killer -
what cars use a Wankel enginer?
All of them - I bet you a million pounds..

How about the first car to use one?
A huge failure, but a great looking and really valuable car, the NSU RO-80. I used to know where one was rotting away.
