which is nice. Photoshop 7 has some tools which fireworks lacks I think, and there are more readily available effects and filters too I think. Can you save action sequences in fireworks?

Photoshop has the edge (better interface, better brushes, better third party support, and is much faster)
Fireworks is better for animation though (and is web orientated). The only thing it lacks if a import function for video (I am SO glad that ImageReady can do that; I would be shafted if it didn't)
