# This is for Highlander II and III and the TV series and Camilla you bastard

quick and dirty, wanted to one of Elizabeth I knighting Mike Jagger but couldn't find a good source pic

# That film
is truly shite, yet Kerry prefers it to the first one.
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:43, archived)
# the best bit is the end credits
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:44, archived)
# I should point out
that the first one's shite, too.
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:44, archived)
# SLAP
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:45, archived)
# thr first one is great
superb soundtrack and clever filming
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:46, archived)
# No it isn't
The soundtrack is by Queen, and thus wrong. You can see the wires holding Christophe Lambert up during the finale. You could eat alphabet soup and shit a better script.
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:48, archived)
# nice
phrase. But you're still wrong.
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:49, archived)
# Queen are ace
so there.
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:49, archived)
# and what
is wrong with Queen¿?
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:50, archived)
# They're
shit.
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:54, archived)
# don't tell me
you like Rap and gangsta and garage music
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:55, archived)
# No
I just don't like drivel like Queen.
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:58, archived)
# Drivel?
I am no longer listening to you.
I know it is your opinion and to that you are entitled, but let me say this.
You are wrong.

# *takes bovine's hand and flounces off with him for a danish*
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 15:01, archived)
# I think you dismiss them too lightly
they created their own niche in Pop History. A lot of their music is very well crafted and respected by people in all walks of life. Therefore drivel is a bit harsh.

But pray tell us who you think are better so we may better understand your angst...
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 15:01, archived)
# plus
the phasing on the phrase 'dynamite with a laser beam' is cool
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 15:18, archived)
# pray
tell us why one of the finest rock bands of our age, performing well crafted melodic songs with educated and odd lyrics constitute "drivel" in your eyes /bee in bonnet now
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 15:03, archived)
# You say
"well crafted melodic songs with educated lyrics" as though it were a good thing. Just because you're technically proficient and have spent umpteen thousand quid on your costumes, stage show, fancy guitars etc doesn't mean that what you're doing is good, or even worth doing. They're obvious, tedious, lowest-common-denominator bombast of the very worst sort.

And Ben Elton can cock off and all.
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 15:12, archived)
# Yes
i think making well crafted melodic songs with educated lyrics (i dont know any other bands who have lyrics about Khrushchev!) is a good thing for a band to be doing really.

Havent a clue how much they spent on costumes, stage shows or guitars (well, brian may spent pretty much watermelon all...) and frankly i dont care. Musicians make music, and theirs i like (as do an enourmous number of people across the world).

I dont decide which bands are good or bad by looking at their frilly shirts and flying v's.

(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 15:20, archived)
# Oh
don't get me wrong, they'd be arse without the costumes, too. It's the little things like putting "there are no synthesisers" on the early albums.
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 15:22, archived)
# *shrugs*
many people probably thought thats what they used. After all, no-one had made that particular sound before from guitars (to my knowledge)
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 15:28, archived)
# You are wrong,
one of the best things about it the music, the plot is simple, but it works well.
And it was the eighties, special effects still weren't that special.
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:51, archived)
# I agree with that ...
Christophe Lambert is a complete cunt though !
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 15:00, archived)
# you nothing of film culture
go and eat some yoghurt and get some
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:51, archived)
# Kids eh,
what do they know.
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:55, archived)
# exactly
*mutter mutter*
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:58, archived)
# He'll be saying next
that American Ninja is a rubbish film.
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:59, archived)
# I think he'll use stronger words than that
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 15:03, archived)
# hahahaha
"Eat Alphabet soup and shit a better script"

hahahahaha!

I have to use that line now..
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:52, archived)
# Yes...
...I really believed that the whole thing was real until that damn wire ruined the illusion for me.
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:54, archived)
# you're not going to win this argument
but that could be just because you are clearly in the wrong
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 15:13, archived)
# Good point,
well made. I never undestood why everyone keeps going on about those films..
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:46, archived)
# the first one
is brilliant, the rest are terrible.
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:47, archived)
# I've still
only seen the first one. While it's one of my fave films, I couldn't bring myself to watch the others!
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 15:09, archived)
# sequels noone needed
Highlander 2, Scary Movie 2, American Pie 2, Easy Rider 2 (I still wonder what will be in it, they are ALL dead), Jurassic Park2...
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:45, archived)
# Easy Rider 2?
Is there such a thing? I pray not.
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:49, archived)
# planned
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 15:04, archived)
# Superman II and Godfather II
are exceptions, don't you think?
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:52, archived)
# Yes
both good films in their own right as was Godfather III, perhaps the best of the lot
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:56, archived)
# X Men 2
was good
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:53, archived)
# so was aliens
the 4th one got painful though.

tomb raider 2 was not needed either.
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 15:03, archived)
# I thought there were TOO many aliens
and you saw too much of them

it didn't quite capture the first one's darkness and hint of a creature.

I went to the premiere of Alien and it scared the watermelon out of me
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 15:05, archived)
# Richard II was good
as was Henry IV
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:54, archived)
# 12th Night
wasnt bad either, although i missed one to eleven /scraping barrel
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 15:08, archived)
# the third
one cracks me up.

was connery in the second?!
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:48, archived)
# doesn't matter
it's still his fault
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:52, archived)
# ok

(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:55, archived)
# There can only be one

(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:44, archived)

(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:47, archived)
# Woo!
And spong to boot!
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:45, archived)
# i like the first one for some reason
tho the whole 'i'm an egyptian with a spanish name and a scottish accent whereas you are a scotsman with a fucked up french canadian accent' totally fucks it up, kurgan rocks tho.
(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:57, archived)
# huzzah!

(, Fri 12 Dec 2003, 14:59, archived)
