# MY ANIMATION IS COMPLETE!

It came out a bit dark, and the sound is off by a second, but here it is:

It looks stunning, what's coming in part 2?

Is max any easier than maya? that made my head hurt
(, Tue 28 Feb 2006, 18:11, archived)
# Max is a thousand times easier than Maya simply because of the interface.
Some parts are counter intuitive, though. The modifier menu takes some getting used to.
(, Tue 28 Feb 2006, 18:12, archived)
# ^ this all round.
I took to max a lot quicker than I did to maya. And you soon remember max's quirks and oddities.

# I used to play a lot with Max
mind you, this was about 9 years ago and I was a total carp at it....
worked forever on making a human head in 3D
didn't go too well

# This
is how feature length animations should be (your's should be longer, and features should be in this style)

I think the darkness (not them (. )( .) -) does it justice!

# oooh, very good

# Well done!
First off there are some really nice bits to this, and I think that the choice of music is great.
The majority of the compositions are very impressive, and though obviously with the compression you've used the light effects are reduced most seem great.
A few tweaks though and this could be fantastic. The fish at the beginning don't seem to move much, and most of the movement throughout is reliant on static background/forground making it feel like a fly through... and this is better than that.

It's difficult because obviously unaware of your experience or age but this is still an impressive piece.

# Must say that I completely agree,
With a few extra tweaks here and there and a good animation becomes a great one. If however you turn out to be about 6 years old I will just bow down now and have to ask you to sign this fun piece of paper on the little line near where I've drawn the fun X
(, Tue 28 Feb 2006, 18:23, archived)
# I'm 21, but I did it all in six weeks.

I know the animation looks a bit static. This was designed as a showcase of my abilities to create an environment, as I am applying for jobs as a level and prop designer.

I have many other pieces featuring proper animation, which will be available for viewing on my demo reel.

# Well
I'd say you've easily achieved that. Knock together a portfolio of stuff like this and you'll get the attention of someone in the industry assuming of course you want to get into the caffeine fueled gaming world.
(, Tue 28 Feb 2006, 18:37, archived)
# Blimey
that's very good indeed. I bet you're bored senseless of waiting for it to render though!
