and i'm actually finding it more annoying than useful. But then my mouse broke and I am back to using the touchpad again.
i don't hit esc. unless i'm trying to break my mac.
but then I once crashed a whole PC system that was rendering a 2hr movie overnight by unplugging a device. Blue screen of death. On a mac you'd just get a slight telling off.

what is annoying is on the mighty mouse how accidentally centre clicking opens the dashboard :(

I was activating it with the side buttns of the mighty mouse, and never used it properly anyway.

prefer the rip-off clear one you can get in john lewis with a proper right/left click. much better.
mine was a free old one off a mate. going to get that one next.

Click the actual blue scroll bar, it'll cause the gif to pause until you release.

on safari, at least, if you click on the scroll bar button the animation stops.
this is great as it's like using a "next frame" button.
