I know what you mean
Now if she had a pet beaver, that would another matter...

would you be making comments about stroking her beaver?
because that would obviously be very wrong and not in the least bit drool material.

these were working ones,
kept outside in rabbit-style hutches, fed on dry cat food and exercised daily in runs. They were stinky, but if you keep them as pets I hear you can have their scent glands removed

She has a scent..
but I don't think it smells bad. It's kind of skunky, but very faint, and only is amplified if she gets wet, like during a bath. Thier scent glands go on overload then !

I know this to be true
But the phrase is such a common one that even I'm in the habit of using it sometimes without thinking, and when I do realise I can never think of a suitable replacement- want to help me out? Also- Ironic. That gets used inappropriately all the time, but we mostly learn meanings from usage, and I struggle with that one too. I've looked it up many, many times, and still can't quite figure out proper context

the song 'Ironic' is not a good yard-stick for the word.
which in itself is kinda ironic, and quite possibly was the original intention.
(
mutster101 fell over ,

I know, that's my point
But you can take that one example and make it ironic, I just can't get a definition clear enough in my head to do it elsewhere

People mostly use the term random
when they actually mean weird, strange or silly But I do understand that if everyone is using it, it's hard to steer clear of it. And once you do use it, nobody understands you any more :)
