# YES!
Fucking yes, thankyou Dave :)

EDIT: Thats really good too, and nice numberplate.
(, Tue 8 May 2007, 13:02, archived)
# 'The Else' is a nice numberplate?
Well it's a good album too

I was listening to it throughout drawing
(, Tue 8 May 2007, 13:05, archived)
# It is.
I have been rocking out to it this morning on my way to college.

# the other AA silly
the only place I ever see VW camper vans is on the hard shoulder with steam/flames pouring out of the engine

and usually with some soppy looking, big-jumper wearing studenty types lolling about calling daddy on their mobiles
(, Tue 8 May 2007, 13:06, archived)
# The only person I know who owns one
is a 30 something bearded legend affectionately called "beard" for obvious reasons, he does them up and then sells them to the daddy mobile troope. For a packet!
(, Tue 8 May 2007, 13:08, archived)
# Pedantichrist
has one. He too is a bearded hippy. Albeit a bad-tempered one.
(, Tue 8 May 2007, 13:09, archived)
# :D beard isn't actually a hippy, just a car mechanic.
I would say that's pretty far from saving the planet :)

also I agree with you about the arty/funny thing you said. Someone had a go at me about not posting funny images and now I get scared to post anything that doesn't contain humour.
(, Tue 8 May 2007, 13:12, archived)
# Oh sod them
I don't do many funnies, b3ta needs a mixture of stuff to make it what it is!

I like all your pictures, funny or not.

# ^ What she said
screw 'em.
(, Tue 8 May 2007, 13:15, archived)
# Yes. Bollocks to that
I try and do a bit of everything. Some days I have the weight of the world on my shoulders plus a squalking kid and I don't feel the hummus at all. I love my digital painting and illustration. It keeps me sane. So again, bollocks to them.

besides, you post more sketches so I have more material to ink and paint ;)
(, Tue 8 May 2007, 13:18, archived)
# sod them, it's usually members who can't be arsed to post anything themselves who complain or put down people's style of work.
If it wasn't for the mix of styles on B3ta anyway, they'd have nothing to complain abaout,. so keep up the excellent drawing work, and keep posting it
(, Tue 8 May 2007, 13:34, archived)
# Awwww
Thank you so much :D

I guess it hit a nerve that I'm not hummusy enough sometimes.
(, Tue 8 May 2007, 13:36, archived)
# well, I'm not artistic enough sometimes, I'm a frustrated artist who gets by on building design and a little humour...
/although thankfully now starting to get back into the 'proper' art stuff, and still want to do some 'proper' digital art *sighs*

I guess people could level the 'you're not arty enough' argument at peeps like me and it'd hit a nerve

as said, don't worry about 'em, it takes all sorts on here, and it's better for it :)
(, Tue 8 May 2007, 13:39, archived)
# I'd like to step in here, as one of those people that doesn't post enough to criticize
and say that the funny is what makes b3ta, and the rest is filler.

If there's too much filler, people complain. Probably not me, though, unless I have something funny to say.
(, Tue 8 May 2007, 13:47, archived)
# indeed, as I said, it takes all sorts on here
you can't please all of the people all of the time, if someone doesn't like something, they can choose to ignore it and move on, or be inspired to buck then trend and have a go at something themselves to do something about it if they want to. Sadly, too many people just start dissing stuff for the sake of it.

Agreed that it's the humour that keeps the place ticking over, but I don't think I've known of a time on here where there's been too much 'filler' kicking about at any one time (except RPS of course)
(, Tue 8 May 2007, 13:51, archived)
# Probably because people compain when they see a trend.
(, Tue 8 May 2007, 14:00, archived)
# I love you and I love your cars.
(, Tue 8 May 2007, 13:03, archived)
# I havn 't seen one of your cars in a while Mr. Dave
Now I can get up and get dresssed. HUZZAH!

It is very nice :)

# awww!

was it a bedford rascal / suzuki super carry thing dressed up as a VW?

# It's a Subaru Sambar
microvan, tricked out to look like a VW Kombi

edit:// There were quite a lot of them and if you can find one on import you will get one from around £3-£6K depending on the age, but they ARE tiny. The roof is around the height of an average man's shoulders.
(, Tue 8 May 2007, 13:16, archived)
# i neeeeeeeeed one! for comedy value.

1. can you still buy them?
2. how much are they?
3. didnt they remake them the beetle and mini?
nice pic :D

# There was a concept
for a replacement in around 2001 but nothing has yet come of that.

The Camper was replaced by the T3 transporter/caravelle and any VW van on the streets now with the name 'transorter' is the modern successor to the old camper/Kombi van.
You can get the old ones reconditioned but they cost a lot.

/was head of VW dealer distribution in MK for a short time in the 90's when I believed I still had the temperament for a corporate wage slave job.
(, Tue 8 May 2007, 13:27, archived)
# cheers for that!
shame though, my dream car, and thanks to b3ta and the forces that be, my dreams are now shattered into a million pieces.
