# It's all vectors in photoshop.
Coloured using feathered selection tool, "brightness/contrast" and "selective colour".
(, Tue 15 May 2007, 16:32, archived)
# grrr it's not vectors ;)
it's selection with a pen tool and is more akin to cell shading technique.
(, Tue 15 May 2007, 16:37, archived)
# Sorry. I am not really sure what to call it then.
What you said I guess. I've done a few now. It's just a way of killing time at work when it's quiet.

# it's cocking ace whatever it is
(, Tue 15 May 2007, 16:41, archived)
# Don't apologise.
It's fantastic and besides, cell shading is an art. Vector tracing is erm, tracing.

with your back up against the wall
with your back up against the wall
tell me, yeah
(, Tue 15 May 2007, 16:48, archived)
# no we can't.
It's eactly the technique used to colour comic books. You make a selection, or 'frisket' in the trade, then you work on hat with colour and contrast. To have vectored it you would have to have created the whole image with shape layers. 90% of the supposed vector images here are actually crude forms of cell shading and have never been near a vector shape.

# i was agreeing with you, YOU FREAK!!!

:)

i was saying, let's not call them vectors, as they're not
let's call them shapes instead...

# look. I just need someone
to argue with. OK? ;)

# OH NO YOU DON'T!
HAHAHAHAHA

did you see what I did there?

:D
(, Tue 15 May 2007, 17:10, archived)
# no
it's not.

was this the full half hour?
(, Tue 15 May 2007, 17:10, archived)
# Ah... but I did use shape layers (The little pen tool) to actually create the basic shapes.
And then I coloured each bit in using cell shading. So it is kindof a vector yes?
(, Tue 15 May 2007, 17:11, archived)
# no
vector refers to a way in which the software draws an image.
