Rendezvous with Rama is still one of my favourite books ever. Shame about the sequels.

The crystal skull thing was the logo of sorts of his TV series "The Mysterious World of Arthur C Clarke", and "Arthur C Clarke's World of Strange Powers". I might still have the books somewhere at home actually - must have a look tonight.

The Rama sequels completely missed the point of the original novel by explaining what Rama was for. I just pretend they were never written.
