# :D
how can a swiss roll hope to maintain it's structural integrity on such a severe incline.

MADNESS!

# Sample 3 showed signs of
structural instability.

# Stress Testing
The purpose is to push the swiss roll beyond breaking point, in order to establish where said breaking point lies.

It is probable that they have gradually increased the incline over time, and are pictured in the final phase of the testing.

# this can be achieved through accurate computer modelling
and the application of Monte Carlo simulation... I propose that we seek funding to end this horrendous cake wastage!
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 13:02, archived)
# Is the technology reliable?
If so then I would support this proposal. However, the consequences if the technology is not reliable could be dire. I, for one, believe that an overall reduction in the quality of swiss rolls is a worse consequence than to waste a few.

# that is the average incline of land in Switzerland
thus ensuring proper Swiss rolling conditions

# All in aid of making a better Swiss Roll
A swiss roll that can maintain its structural integrity yet remain moist and spongey on the palate.

When perfected they will be able to survive 2 full rolls down Everest and only be affordable by the 5 richest kings of Europe.

# NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Buscuits had it good at one time, they used to put the broken ones in boxes and sell them cheap, so they too could complete their journey. Sadly this has been taken away too....

# Could you imagine a box of "slightly squashed"
Swiss Rolls...It would be a sugary mush. (just pour the custard into the box and serve)

# There are a couple of shops near me that still sell them!
and I believe Netto still sell broken biscuit assortment boxes

# ya joking, right? I've not seen any for YEARS!
*goes looking for broken biscuits*

# don't worry
there's a recession on - broken biscuits and fish and chips with 'bits' will be back on the national diet in no time -- along with bubble and squeak and porridge.
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 13:00, archived)
# But porridge is the food of kings!
Stir in a little honey and it beats any sugar-filled breakfast cereal.

PoundSavers I think - and they still all taste of the same thing...

# I shall be investigating this further.....
I thought they couldn't sell those anymore (probably EU regulations and the such)
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 13:04, archived)
# There's a shop in my town called Becketts
They not only sell broken biscuit assortments, but also broken chocolate bar assortments. The last bag I bought had around 30 whole Cadburys Boost bars, it was a result for 99p

Q. How do you make a Swiss Roll?

A. Roll him down a hill
(, Tue 22 Jul 2008, 12:57, archived)
# ha! you fool!
Years of natural selection for life on slopes made us resistant to horizontal instability! You'll have to do more than that!
I'll suggest bringing a boat.
