edit:
The above advert does not necessarily reflect upcoming products, nor the views of Symantec Corporation.

# pffft
that would give you aids in an instant, and then threaten to cut your knob off if you don't pay the renewal fee

# All of this
Norton raped my machine to the point that even my tech-head, IT-bod mate was shocked.
(, Wed 17 Dec 2008, 15:26, archived)
# yeah I learnt the hard way
it was such an utterly shit product.. my main purpose in life is now to get as many people as possible to uninstall Norton.

I'm like an internet vampire hunter

# I used norton for a while
and it did protect me from viruses, it did it by rendering my computer completely unusable
(, Wed 17 Dec 2008, 15:38, archived)
# Hahaha
you have to admit, that's effective protection right there. A bit like protecting someone from falling over by breaking both their legs.

# You and me both.
I used to recommend Norton to all my clients. I think it was the 2006 version that completely fucked a bunch of them over, and I felt obligated to help clean up the mess since I'd recommended it. It's a piece of shitful system-crushing bloatware.
(, Wed 17 Dec 2008, 15:40, archived)
# Norton yes,
I had it for 2 weeks and got rid of it.

But the old Symantec Corporate, which I have had on my computer since I got it, is absolutely brilliant! About a year after I got the computer, I suddenly remembered that I had never installed any anti-virus software and thought fuck! Then, as I was installing something or another, it said I already had one running.

they are free for a reason

lack important features, buffer overflow detection, heuristic scanning, cleanup abilities, late updates etc.

# I do feel this.
I run avast on my travelling laptop, purely for the fact that I use it so rarely, but as I said above, I run Symantec Corporate on my main computer and I have never had a single problem with it whatsoever.

I agree, I wouldn't use anything but these.

As for Norton condoms, I'd rather use a plastic bag and elastic band.
