play poker. It's nicer, and there's more chance of winning (well, certainly seems so for me. Maybe I'm shite at roulette).
You know this, obviously. Still, be careful. If you've got money like that to burn, I'd save it if I were you.

and they all make a living as "professional" online poker players... essentially they live at home and they wait until late at night and on the weekends when people are sleepy and drunk and they take money off them in poker games.
Scum.

also - they all seemed wan and bitter, which they never were (although last time I knew them they were 17 or something so - perhaps the intervening years living at home have not been good to them).

That's not my experience of online poker. Over agressive spaniards that don't really know how to play (all in all in all in all in all in all in all in etc etc) is more what I've encountered.

It was the Phoenix Festive in '96 some band cancelled on the main stage and she happened to be there and stood in.
So everyone turned up expecting to see some pretty big name band (I can't remember who) and she played instead. She was terrible, exuberant and utterly brilliant.
Everyone had a whale of a time.

There's no point playing for fake money.
It's not the most i've lost or won, but I think today I've decided to quit it completely.
£1500 isn't really a problem, but more bugger - what else I could have spent that on.
Arghh now i've come out to B3TA I will resolve to quit -
