# haha
I saw that film for the first time only recently. It does not deserve its "worst fim ever made" tag.

Rubbish yes. Worst film ever? No.
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:00, archived)
# I like it...
some of it is dreadful, but it's also better than most of what passes for a 'blockbuster' these days.

And it has an exploding Fred from Corrie in it
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:01, archived)
# ^ THIS
everyone knows The Phantom Menace is the worst film ever made.

(although I saw Alien vs Predator 2 the other day and it was a close contender..)

# *throws in vote for The Descent*
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:04, archived)
# now that is a very piss poor film
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:04, archived)
# Someone who agrees!
It really was dire. I sat there predicting *every* "scare" that was coming. Dross.
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:07, archived)
#
Have you people not even seen "The Core"?
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:05, archived)
# Fuck. I watched that the other day.
Well, I watched the first half hour, predicted the rest and turned on the last 20 minutes to watch my predictions come true. It was fucking shit.
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:10, archived)
# That's a good-bad film. It's terrible, really, but well made shit.
Like "The Day After Tomorrow".
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:14, archived)
# is that the one set in Romania or somewhere similar
with them all trapped underground and being attacked by mutated creatures?

or is it the virtually identical film with the pretty girlies in?
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:06, archived)
# i vote x-men 3
as having the highest should-have-been-good-but-was-actually-shit ratio
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:07, archived)
# that was a good film.
there was a similar cave film that Griffy mentions, that was rubbish.

edit: called 'The Cave':

# No, no, no.
I've not seen what sounds like the original, but The Descent is one of the biggest wastes of 2 hours of my life. Predictable, clunky, full of jilted dialogue, and about as scary as cardboard tube.
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:14, archived)
# Group of female friends go caving, and meet up with human-eating Neanderthals?
The dialogue probably wasn't anything to write home about, but the ending is extremely horrifying.

As in actual horror, not Saw-style splatter 'horror'.
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:18, archived)
# By the time I got to the end,
I couldn't give a shit about any of the hollow idiot characters, or any semblance of plot, so it's impact was diminished. Also, it seemed to be an attempt at pseudo-intellectual psycho-nonsense, and was completely at odds to the drivel thrown around in the rest of the film. it was shit.
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:22, archived)
# how can you say that? the pod race and Darth Maul bits are fucking awesome
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:05, archived)
# Sorry Toasty, I know you disagree on this one
but I maintain that film sucked hairy monkey balls :)
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:07, archived)
# Star Wars 1-3 were average films.
The only real problem with them was that they weren't the original trilogy.
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:08, archived)
# the last fight scene was excellent, mostly because no-one says anything during it
the pod race should have been good but was ruined by an idiot child mouthing an awful script and not even greg proops could turn it around
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:08, archived)
# Those bits were great.
The most irritating memories from that film mostly involve Gungans (including he-who-shall-not-be-named). Especially the battle scene with the sphere-throwing stuff.
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:21, archived)
# It's the worst star wars film
but that doesn't make it the worst film ever made
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:07, archived)
# depends how much of a star wars geek you are
to me it was exactly like watching my infant self being fisted by a giant jar-jar shaped sex toy operated by a sweating, tumescent george lucas
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:10, archived)
# the formula is
(Budget of film x Hype out of 10) / Audience goodwill out of 10

This produces "The Lucas Formula" (tm)

# Did you factor in the number of dwarf actors involved?
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:13, archived)
# second and third one are far worse than the first one
they're a jumbled mess of attempting to please fan boys. horrible waste.

The Clone Wars tv series however has been fantastic!
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:31, archived)
# "FarCry" by a long way.
edit: actually, movies that have been so disappointing that I hate them: Aeon Flux, Brothers Grimm, 2nd two Matrix films, Ultraviolet
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:10, archived)
# oh christ they made a film??
was it Uwe Boll, I assume?
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:13, archived)
# yes, and it was unbelievably painful.
I'd rather pay for and watch every chick flick for the next three years than watch FarCry again.
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:16, archived)
# Aeon Flux and Ultraviolet were, indeed, rubbish.
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 15:26, archived)

# All these worse film ever arguments
are pointless until you've seen Night of the Panther, or Troll 2, or Zombie Creeping Flesh

said she redundantly.

Traci Lords is a sign of quality.

Found some film with her in the other day called Epicentre.

It was basically Midnight Run after an earthquake, with her as an FBI agent.
