Because it was such a disappointment. Had some really funny bits but on the whole derivative and terrible - proof that Naylor without Grant is just a waste of time...

It died after series 4, all comedy programs do

though I appear to be alone in this. It's fucking awful and Larry David can't act for fucking toffee. More importantly, it's just not funny which kind of defeats the point.

and it ended with Back To Reality, which is my fave episode.
I thought it died when the writing team broke up.

They should have known it was doomed from the start with the phrase 'the channel that gave you Argumental'

... it wasn't even in space!
Can you believe they've got the balls to have this out on DVD for £13...?
If you've seen Bladerunner, The LOG film, the Back To Reality episode and then forgotten all the good bits - you wouldn't even need to bother!

red dwarf works best as a low-budget cheesy sitcom full of one-liners and canned laughter and terrible special effects
ed: that said, i'm probably going to end up buying the dvd and watching it again and enjoying it :D

It's already been done, it would have made more sense to do something original (though a lot less mawkish and sentimental) then after all the surreal metareferencing bits they have a big gun battle until everyone is left silent and possibly dead or not dead.

I'm going to write a really camp and shit American TV comedy like Will & Grace for six years purely so on the very final episode they are all pulled into Hell and made to sit judgement for their time on earth and end up carving chunks out of each other in a barbaric cannibal forced orgy at the end.

would not say it was the best thing I ever saw but then again it was not that bad.
sort of a 6.5 out of 10 from me then.
