I'd expected snow, which is why I was overjoyed to get rained on for two days. It was bloody cold, too. But on the plus side, it went really well -- as well as I could have dreamed. It'll be a month or so before I learn if I've got the job, but I know I'm definitely well in line for it, with only two or three others who might steal it from me. Nothing guaranteed but he liked me, liked and was interested in my work, and would be interested in me carrying it on with him in Oslo, and I can't ask for anything more than that.
So I'm quite hopeful about that. And despite the rain and the dark and the sheer expense of it all, Oslo seems like a decent town, too.

I went to Oslo last year and loved it. Had to eat solely at 7-11s though. Expensive place.
Well done!

so I should get most of the money I spent on food back. But probably not all of it, since they'll pitch the expenses at German prices, which are almost sane. Plus Oslo paid for my hotel and it was an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet, which saved me a fortune on lunches. :)
I'd say I've got about a 30-40% chance of getting the job and I'll be utterly delighted if I do. And even if I don't he wants to work with me on some of my stuff anyway -- and since he's got a 100+ core supercomputer with loads of cycles going free I can start throwing my ludicrously inefficient codes around and actually get results. So even if I don't get that job I'll be ahead. If I do I'll be spunking in my pants for a week. (Then I'll move to Oslo and see all the girls walking around and do the whole thing over again. They're big on black leggings and boots at the minute. It's a dream, I tells yer.)

Is that gay grindcore bands or something? I may enjoy Oslo even more than I thought...

I think it might have been in connection with a gay rights march that was also going on in the city that day. Maybe.

Especially if some of the girls are straight and all the men are gay.

how did you make them stay so fluffy? I've tried to make fluffy things, but after cutting the texture out, making them look fluffy on the outside edges is always a problem, which turns out shit.

Whenever I've used smudge to try for that effect, it looks like a spikey mess made by a retard. I think patience may also be part of the answer.

Good for highly talented peeps, if you aim a bit lower to get your foot amongst the rungs, and apply for some of the more boring Mac operator/desktop editor jobs
People would simply gasp at any portfolio you could put under some media people's chins, you just need to learn to know where to show it :)
