If they hadn't and I broke my leg again the result would have resembled a jigsaw of bone fragments. So out it came. good as new now, but I did have one really skinny leg and one normal leg for a while.. Not a good look

I also had knee surgeries recently
But mine was keyhole so the scars are not nearly so spectacular as Postbear's there. They also gave me a DVD of the procedure as seen through the camera and that makes for seriously gruesome viewing.
