This is a normal post you have such a narrow minded view it is unbeliveble,
right, i have always and probably still do dislike Jade Goody but fucking hell, at least let the poor girl dies with some dignity instead of taking the piss.
And yes she is a media whore but lets face it, her career died long before she did and you can't blame her really for making a little bit of money for her kids.
She died at 27 for fucks sake.
(, Sun 22 Mar 2009, 11:27, Reply)
This is a normal post Im sorry...
...but I'm with TIM on this one. Everyone on these boards knew she was going to die and they mocked her then. Now she's actually dead people are pretending that they actually give a fuck. All he is doing is doing is posting a news link and saying that inevitably there will be jokes.
(, Sun 22 Mar 2009, 12:32, Reply)
This is a normal post Call me a liar, hypocrit or whatever
but i have never made or laughed at a Jade Goody joke because many of my family members have died from cancer, and i just find it really distasteful to mock someone in their dying days and their death day.
show a little respect for the dead, to be honest it's just too soon.

when sarah and jessica were murdered b3tans loved it.. found it sooo funny! sick fuckers. ashamed to post here sometimes.

You are totally missing my point...and pretty much the whole point of this website.

Anyone with any sense doesn't make fun of the issue here. Cancer is clearly a horrendous disease which kills many and ruins the lives of those affected. However, Jade Goody clearly used the media to her advantage to make money out of the issue. I am not saying that she did wrong in this as she was trying to make as much money as possible to pass to her family (I think?), but in doing this she also put herself in the limelight and will therefore be a focus of attention for people on boards such as this. How people never batted an eyelid when Newsletter issue 369 was titled "Jade's last issue", but then complain about this, baffles me?

By posting the link above, TIM is making light of the subject. Not taking the subject lightly.

And yes, in posting on a renowned "bad taste" website and then moaning, you are in fact a hypocrite.
(, Sun 22 Mar 2009, 13:38, Reply)
This is a normal post ^ THIS THIS THIS.
Absobloodyexactly.

All the original poster has done is said "JADE GOODY FINALLY DIES!!!"

This just seems to be mocking the constantly sensationalist headlines, the "JADE IS GOING BLIND!" "JADE IS IN A COMA!" etc etc etc. The way that every moment of her demise had been spun into hysteria.

And he's pointed out that sickipedia is going to have a field day. Also true.

Nobody on this board has said "yay she's dead!" and I don't think that anyone would.

Because nobody thinks that.

Everyone is mocking the absurdity of the whole situation. The outpouring of grief for a woman that everyone was calling an idiot or a "vile racist pig" a couple of months ago. The way that she is sanctified whilst countless others die without a moment's mourning....or are openly mocked on this very website without anyone batting an eyelid...just because they're not a point of media obsession.

This is a normal post if she'd not lived by media
then she'd lived by benefits. She really couldn't win! I don't get the hatred, her upbringing made her a little dim, that does not deserve such vitriol.

This is a normal post *ahem*
sorry but doesn't "ridicule" generally mean some form of humour or commentary involved rather than just "yay she's dead". I don't really have an opinion on her but i'll laugh at a good Jade Goody joke, and feel uncomfortable at someone celebrating her death, as they're too very distinct things. Kinda like the difference of telling a holocaust joke and being a Nazi.
(, Sun 22 Mar 2009, 14:25, Reply)
This is a normal post You should realise, Jade was a saint.
Death can only be openly mocked and laughed at around these parts when it's part of a massive disaster.

That way the dead are anonymous and nobody need feel guilty.

I was waiting how long it would take for somebody to mention Diana. It's the same hyped up mass media coverage that has a lump in everyone's throat, nothing more.

I couldn't give a fuck about Diana, or Jade. They are ideal targets for me to relieve my own anxiety about the death of my own friends and family by laughing.

This is a normal post Well...
First of all, it's sad when anyone dies, and especially for her children who have lost a mother. Illness is never nice, and dying young is never nice. I know. I see the indisputable figures about more women going for smear tests - one of the very few good things to come out of this sorry episode.

Now - this whole Jade Goody thing, to me, symbolises all that is wrong with Britain, and in particular, the way mass media works. Just like Jordan, she prostituted every second of her life, before she was ill, and while she was ill. I hear the argument about her providing for her kids, and I am very cynical about it. She was doing, in illness, what she did before illness - selling magazine pages.

I see on the news that there are some people leaving flowers by her gate this morning. Fine, if that's how they want to remember her. I am thinking about the hundreds and thousands of others who die, every day.

She was a nobody thrust into the limelight by her appearance on a programme that made voyeurs of half of the country. A racist bully. If that's what people want to idolise and leave flowers for - fine. It's a shocking state of affairs in my opinion, that people feel they have to do that, while Mrs Miggins at Number 42 is wheeled away quietly to be cremated.

Anyway - to summarise - sad that children have lost their mother, good that more women are being checked out, bad that it's something worthy of blanket news coverage.

she was just so dumb the media used her. she wasn´t intelligent enough to do all this on her own...
(, Sun 22 Mar 2009, 13:23, Reply)
This is a normal post Oh come on...
...used her? At what point was she being used? She was being paid.

I don't want to make jokes about this (at least not today), but this whole "the new peoples' princess" bullshit gets right up my nose.

Mind you, she was a not-too-bright blonde who was thrust into the public eye at a young age, put it about a bit, had a very public separation from the father of her two children and died young because she ignored basic common-sense safety advice. Maybe there is something in it after all.

This is a normal post As I've said before
When Bobby Robson was diagnosed with cancer, he set about raising funds for research and treatment. Jade Goody could have done that, and thereby done some lasting good. Instead she hawked herself to the highest bidder to save her family from ever having to bother to actually work for a living like the rest of us.

Sorry, I forgot that anyone who dies of cancer is automatically above criticism.

WHAT THE FUCK HAVE I STARTED HERE?

When you have OK! Magazine selling a memorial issue 4 days before she goes, uncomfirmed rumours that ***Allegedly*** the boyfriend is now trying to sell the rights to the funeral (as per popbitch) This has become a media circus.

The Daily Express, Daily Star, Star Magazine, and various others that are owned by the same company - including OK! are making good use of their £700k for the jade exclusives.

I am not making light of the death of a mother, I am making light of the press and media in general making such a "flogging the dead horse" of the situation.

ALSO - I would like to point out that nowhere have I said "Yay, she's dead"

This is a normal post Im really sad for her and her family and I think that there will be a time for lols later on
I just personally think it is too soon. At the moment I am strongly reminded of friends and family who have died in a similar way and the media coverage has just brought it all back.

Like her or hate her she has done wonders for cancer awareness even though I doubt that that had any bearing for her motivation for going so public with this. I also don't resent her for accepting all this cash for it as given her situation I would have done the same thing if I could have secured my families future.

I don't think it is wrong to find amusement at the plethora of sick jokes that will surely follow her death, after all we are b3tards and sick humour its a big part of what we have in common, however to actually rejoice at her death and the awful manner in which it came about is not what I think the majority of us are about.

By the way I am not directing this specifically at TIMBlonline, just having my 2ps worth on the overall discussion.
