Where is the North/South/Midlands?I made this!
You can help find out by filling in this form and sharing with a load of people! Reckon if I get a thousand or so responses I can make a pretty good map. Currently at 43. North or South
Easy. Anything north of Northampton is 'The North'. Anything south of Southampton is 'The South'. Anything between is 'The Midlands'.

Anything past edgeware and you've basically got a ferret down your trousers
I wouldn't even go to Watford unless I've had my shots and carrying plenty of bottled water

Good work.
Soon we'll get these idiots handing over everything - just have to ask for things in separate "surveys". Mother's maiden names next.

I was going to put a "completely anonymous" disclaimer but thought it was a bit redundant
Maybe I should specify "first half of postcode" as that's fine

Why is this difficult to answer?
Presumably you just pick the most northerly and southerly latitudes of the mainland of England and apportion into thirds.
Or is there some convoluted method involving equally proportional areas of the mainland less rivers, lakes and any areas under foreign ownership?

Draw a rectangle centered on the vertical middle of the country, touching the border with Scotland at the top and the Southern coast at the bottom.
Divide this into thirds and use the boundary between the middle third and its neighbours as where north and south start/end, job done.

It’s difficult because Nottingham is as far north as the south goes.
And Leicester is as far south as the north goes.

Addenda, the borders will be delineated by a continuous low wall that may have to pass through homes, gardens etc

‘The North’ is everything north of the South Downs Way.
