Time for a Sunday evening thread
I'm tired and grumpy and have a pile of work I won't do so you think of a question
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 17:52, 97 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
I propose,
"Why have a house when yeeeee can have a houseboat?"
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 17:56, Reply)
so you don't get seasick while shagging?

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:00, Reply)
you've just got to catch the rhythm right
i wish i had a houseboat
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 22:13, Reply)
I read that as "housecoat"
and was thinking, well, they're nice but they're no substitute.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 20:02, Reply)
I'm in a very good mood!
Therefore, I ask why you are grumpy?
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:01, Reply)
probably not enough sleep
too much work and the nagging thought that I may have realised way too late that a guy was flirting with me. Again.

why are you in a good mood?
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:12, Reply)
Woo hoo!

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:14, Reply)
OK...yay
I don't care for football but I am glad it makes you happy
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:23, Reply)
Thank you!
Tbh, it's just a good end to what has been an otherwise boring weekend!
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:37, Reply)
flirting how?
did he point to you, then to himself, and then make a ring with his left thumb and index finger which he then poked with his right index finger. 'Cause if he did you missed a sitter.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:44, Reply)
haha
to be fair, I'm pretty oblivious so I'd probably not realise even then. Well, not for at least an hour or two.

In this case I was quite drunk, so I may have misinterpreted, but he seemed pretty keen to talk to me and there was an odd thing before I left which in retrospect was a lot like someone trying to find something clever to say then bumbling a bit
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:56, Reply)
I am woeful at noticing that too
In retrospect, would you have considered him before you suspected he fancied you?
if that makes sense
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 19:14, Reply)
uh, yeah
in fact I got accused of hitting on him earlier
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 19:17, Reply)
dayum
seems like a missed opportunity. Next time employ method detailed above to avoid misinterpretation.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 19:45, Reply)
:(

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 20:23, Reply)
Should I be a good girl and do interview prep tonight
or should I sit on my arse and consume chocolate whilst watching trashy tv?
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:10, Reply)
how long until the interview?

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:11, Reply)
It's on wednesday

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:15, Reply)
then you have time for both between now and then

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:17, Reply)
You can do interview prep with chocolate, surely?

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:11, Reply)
Well I could, yes
but chocolate goes better with monging out with your brain switched off than it does with reading stuff and concentrating.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:14, Reply)
You should set aside 1 hour for interview prep
and then crack open the dairy milk
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:23, Reply)
This is a very sensible approach
although it does involve doing an hour of work that I don't really fancy doing. Ah well.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:25, Reply)
Al's suggestion is best
an hour of work, then the rest of Gypsy Weddings. Or possibly you should watch Tool Academy
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:28, Reply)
Dear oh dear, are you really that bored?

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:40, Reply)
Tool Academy is amazing
it gave me some of the best laughs of last Tuesday evening
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:41, Reply)
The only program with 'lads' like that I enjoyed was Bad Lads Army
Watching their spirit get broken was greatly enjoyable to observe.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:43, Reply)
Best of luck.
It's quite late, maybe start on it another day.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:29, Reply)
I'm looking forward to that "The Promise" thing on C4 tonight.

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:14, Reply)
what's all that about then?

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:17, Reply)
I think it's about a holiday in israel gone wrong, the advert has loads of girls in bakeinis and explosions, which is good enough for me.

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:22, Reply)
I'm totally watching this now.

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:24, Reply)
What? It's on at 9.

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:25, Reply)
No, I meant that following your description I will now watch it, when it comes on.

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:26, Reply)
Oh awesome ±
I want it to be on now so I can go to bed, I want this day to be over for some reason.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:32, Reply)
:(

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:33, Reply)
I should be so full of glee that I would be bursting radiance of hope like a harpy sings it's song, as I was going to go Green Park and meet a load of Pugs (80 of them !) but instead I went to Chase Farm Hossy.
Oh diddums, never mind, thursday is my social highlight this month now, only just second place to seeing 80 pugs outside buckingham palace.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:45, Reply)
Oh poor lovely Gonz.
I'm sorry you missed seeing your pugs and for such a rubbish reason.
Thursday will be lovely.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:47, Reply)
Deep fried goodness, do you have any requests?

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:59, Reply)
A mars bar.
I've never had a deep-fried mars-bar.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 19:16, Reply)
That's one of the things with us, their is no worries about allorgies, we can have any condiment bars we like =)
I'll pick up a packet of mixed Fun Size ones.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 19:40, Reply)
I. Love. You.

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 19:50, Reply)
Haha, I just read that back, I meant confectionary.

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 20:20, Reply)
I am so full of food.
I dunno if I should be sick. I am still a little hungover. Should I vom?
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:14, Reply)

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:17, Reply)
I'm just keeping still
I ate so so so so much
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:21, Reply)

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:23, Reply)

Dough balls, pizza, ice cream.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:25, Reply)
Mmmmm
I'm having roast pork for dinner.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:27, Reply)
Hmm, not a big fan of pork.
I like beef though. And lamb. Tasty tasty lamb.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:28, Reply)
No Al, you're married, happily I might add, you can't ask her when she's next coming out with her redhead mate just so you can see Chompy and Matt and definatly not gonz hit on her.

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 19:03, Reply)
Film it
it could open up a whole new area of work for you.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:21, Reply)
Evening, Alice.
I hate throwing up, though.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:21, Reply)
Best try and avoid it then
I had a little sick last night.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:22, Reply)
In the bed?
Oh dear.

EDIT: Ah, read it properly. I had red wine last night.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:23, Reply)
No, in the porcelain telephone

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:24, Reply)
-applause-
I was very drunk last night and didn't even vom.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:26, Reply)
better out than in

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:22, Reply)
If I still feel rough in about an hour.

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:24, Reply)
It'll make you feel better
in terms of having a lighter stomach but I don't think it'll do anything for the hangover haha
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:29, Reply)
I think it's the hangover making me feel a little queasy.
How are you?
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:37, Reply)
Not great
I slept through most of the day and the light is hurting my eyes so I'm wondering if I'm a bit ill.

Did you have a good night?
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:39, Reply)
Oh, that's not good :(
Any other symptoms? Last night was fantastic, I got very drunk. No more booze for a while.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:41, Reply)
Nah I feel alright
just bone tired. Glad the night was good, and yeah no more booze save yourself for Oxford
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:43, Reply)
Good. The light aversion's not great though.
Yesssss Oxford soon, cna't wait.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:44, Reply)
This is true
I'm wincing away from it and it's hurting in the back of my head. It might be because I spent most of the day asleep though haha.

And yes it will be very fun.
(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 18:45, Reply)
I'll just add a woop woop in here
because I am also very much looking forward to it.

(, Sun 6 Feb 2011, 19:16, Reply)
I can't think of a question.
After this weekend's antics I'm feeling the worst I have for as long as I can remember. I could be mistaken for Michael J Fox I'm shaking so bad.

i am on a train
it is a nice train, i have red wine and am feeling good. lady spacefish is sitting opposite me reading history books, the dog is at my feet dozing, i have done some quantum physics, some programming and some dossing around on the internet. my last deadline of note was saturday and i have nothing to worry about for another two weeks now. i don't have a question, i just wanted to be insufferably smug, online

oh, actually i do. why do some dog owners bag up their dog poops and then leave them on the path? surely that's the worst of both worlds?
