Watching an audience with Ken Dodd and trawing a dating site.
I think I'm definitely too picky. I've decided not to message a guy because his lips are too thin and he's called Gary.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:02, Reply)
Nothing wrong with that
I've never really seen the point of not being picky. Which dating site?
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:03, Reply)
Zoosk.
It's shit btw.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:04, Reply)
Never used any
but will bear it in mind
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:06, Reply)
You need the Guardian one.
You're clever and live near London so should do well.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:07, Reply)
But then I'd end up
with the knit-your-own-yoghurt types. I'm actually fairly resigned at being single

Haha! I forgot about your political leaning.
You're the nicest Conservative Catholic I've ever met : )

Thanks

Ok! I may not have met many yet but I bet you're the nicest one I'll ever meet.

I try not to be a complete bastard. Any interesting ones on your dating site?
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:16, Reply)
Well........
I messaged one earlier who seems to have quite a good sense of humour and not too shabby looking. We'll see. I've cancelled my subscription but it doesn't run out for a week or two.

I've cancelled my match.com subscription

(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:11, Reply)
Tomorrow, and I might walk to Oxford next Saturday, 23.5 miles.
Spent the day in bed watching Battlestar Galactica. It's a bit fucking good. Good day?
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:14, Reply)
I still maintain you are mental for even thinking about going on that walk Noel.

(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:16, Reply)
My longest this past couple of years was almost 17 miles, I think it'd be a good challenge
although I'm looking at up to eight hours for it and I'm supposed to be doing some bloody treasure hunt and pub-hopping around Oxford afterward so maybe not.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:18, Reply)
Also I'm looking at doing a National Trail or something this year, the Ridgeway perhaps, did a section of that last week and it was absolutely brilliant
plus I'd still like to do my 100-miles-to-the-sea fundraiser at some point so I'd best get in training.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:21, Reply)
Not really.
Boring day and I was a bit down earlier but I made myself go to the gym and I feel better. Yay for endorphins.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:17, Reply)
Free upper chemicals kick arse.

Evening all
I was supposed to be going to a night of stand-up but having run half the way to the train station because I left the house late, I got there and no-one else was. I rang my brother and discovered that his gf (who had been all for it) was sleeping off last night's excesses, and he didn't think we'd firmly agreed to go, despite the following exchange of texts:

Me: want to go and see stand-up at the hippodrome on Sat? It's free, I can get tickets.
Him: Sure why not
Me: Doors open 18:15 but tickets do not guarantee entry so I think should catch the 17:28 train
Him: Sounds good, and if we don't get in we're positioned well for cheeky ales

I figured that was all settled but he was waiting for a further call to confirm. Gah!

So I came home and have watched some American tv.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:18, Reply)
Cunts!
Tell them I said so.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:20, Reply)

No worries mate, he's not my cup of tea either :)

(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:32, Reply)
Meh
Jeff said he went to the same show in Bristol and left before the end because it wasn't very good, so I'm not overly bothered.

Plus a 15 minute jog and a 20 minute walk back have probably done me good.

(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:26, Reply)
Who is Amber Tamblyn and isn't she a bit young for you.

(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:31, Reply)
She was in Joan of Arcadia and The Unusuals
and is currently in House. And technically I'm sure she's far too young for me, but in my carefully constructed reality that's no obstacle.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:34, Reply)
nice.
Who is she?

does it count as a wardrobe malfunction?
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:57, Reply)
Hi blousie
I have had an abysmal day: been out the house since 12 and almost all of that working. I'm still in the fucking lab now and I have to come in again tomorrow for at least two hours. *weeps* I hope your day has been better than mine.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:48, Reply)
Why working this weekend?

(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:52, Reply)
Tis the nature of labwork
you have to do stuff when it needs doing. If that happens to be the weekend or past 5pm.. tough shit.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 20:54, Reply)
Those pesky..........petri dishes of.........whatever they've got in them.

Or at the weekend. So work shall just have to be done on my schedule. What a shame.

Thanks to my sister

Let's face it, they should be lucky that you're not a drug crazed shoplifter. A few extra holes in your body is nothing to worry about.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 21:35, Reply)
As my sister said
"They should just assume it by looking at you"
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 21:37, Reply)
She does have a point.
Surely they are past the point of being surprised by your body mods?
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 21:38, Reply)
Mum's face said otherwise
She was not impressed.
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 21:40, Reply)
Good God!
Remind her that peircing heal up and tatooes are for life. Does she think it's some sort of perverted sexual thing?
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 21:41, Reply)
I think she thought that maybe
She's fine now, was just a flash of "we are not amused". She still loves me!
(, Sat 26 Feb 2011, 21:44, Reply)
Good!
I'd have to have words with her otherwise.
