Morning Otters
I got up BEFORE EIGHT O'CLOCK! On a Saturday!

I have already taken delivery of two bottles of a new Islay Malt and now I'm at a bit of a loss - I expected to have to wait in most of the day for Parcelforce and now I'm free to do whatever I want any old time.

What are you up to this Saturday?

Alt: Can I come?
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 9:02, 71 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
You can come if you bring a bottle.
I'm just off to town to buy maps of South Pennines for BGB's bash.
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 9:06, Reply)
It's mine all mine!
2 bottles of Caol Ila Moch. I've also got a bottle of Ardbeg Blasda but that's for a mate's 40th - ironically, I just read a review that says "Moch is the whisky that Blasda should have been". Briefly thought of swapping the bottles over but then figured "screw him".

The problem with reading online reviews of whisky is you just end up reading about other whiskies - blog.thewhiskyexchange.com/2011/02/whisky-tasting-notes-caol-ila-moch/ just makes me want to go into town and pick up a bottle of the Hedonism Maximus.
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 9:15, Reply)
That's whisky porn.
I'll be looking at that later.

Toodle pip.
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 9:18, Reply)
I've just got home.
Top tip kids. If someone says to you, 'lets get on the Old Bristolian cider'.

Don't. Just go home. Leave it well alone.

Fuck my head hurts.

What will you be drinking tonight then Jeff?
GOOD MORNING JEFF. ARE YOU FEELING DELICATE?
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 9:10, Reply)
I will be drinking tonight
If not, sooner. I'm tempted with the idea of a quick bottle of Stella and then going to bed.

Yes, I'm feeling a tad rough, but it's nothing that some sleep won't sort out.

That's how I roll.
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 9:12, Reply)
This behaviour is simply heroic.
I hope you have left your body to medical science. Or Bulmers.
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 9:14, Reply)
I hear they're going to be producing a "Jeff-Aged" cider shortly.
Well, he is.
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 9:16, Reply)
Haha.

(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 9:19, Reply)
Don't you start either.
My pain comes from drinking here.

Oi.
Who have you got today?

(I've retired to my pit now, I've got the GP qualification on and I'm going to have a snooze)
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 9:20, Reply)
The Mackems
We haven't lost in 5 and won last week; they've got 1 point from their last 7 games and lost 5-0 last week; our only clean sheet this season came in our home game against them last year when Odemwingie's goal won it 18 hours after signing for us.

So all the omens suggest we'll get spanked. How about you?
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 9:24, Reply)
Barnsley away.
A 0-0 will be a good result. It's one of those games we can easily lose.
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 9:27, Reply)
if you can't win against barnsley
you might as well fucking give up.
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 9:57, Reply)
I forgot you have Hodgson now. I still think he's an utter cunt for stringing us up at the start of the season.
Small matter of a game at Old Trafford today, I can't think of anything I care about less. Just give them a 2-0 bye and be done with it.
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 9:30, Reply)
Hard to turn down Liverpool I suspect
but it worked out well for us :)

We drew with Manure at theirs, no reason you can't too.
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 9:43, Reply)
Don't blame him at all for going.
It's the manner in which he did it. "I'm not leaving"....then ten days before the start of the season he fucks off leaving us in the lurch.
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 9:54, Reply)
We've had the same with TonyMowbray
When we went down last time, he was playing up the "Loyalty is important" to stop our best players leaving. Week before the season starts, Celtic come knocking and off he goes... Mind you, di Matteo was a pretty impressive replacement.
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 10:10, Reply)
You should have appointed Steve Coppell.

(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 11:44, Reply)
As opposed to Hughes?
Don't think Coppell is Premiership material really.
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 12:09, Reply)
You've just got in?
Good god man.
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 9:40, Reply)

Surely you finish early enough to still get out and enjoy it
if you started that early?
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 9:54, Reply)
I finish at 5. So not really

(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 10:07, Reply)
Lame :(
still three hours of daylight drinking/beer garden time. And the forecast is even better for tomorrow, if that helps...

He won't emerge from several more hours I'm guessing
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 10:45, Reply)
I got up at 6 to go with mr b3th to a boot sale
a rather stupid behaviour that I will be repeating tomorrow. Now it feels like almost lunch time, but in reality it's only just past getting up time.

I have no plans for today other than 'chill the fuck out'.

Alt: meh. If you want. Just don't expect me to entertain you.
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 9:51, Reply)
Beth, are you sure you're not my mum?
she used to say that exact thing to me when I was little if I asked to go somewhere with her.
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 10:52, Reply)
haha
If I told you to go to your room, would you?
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 11:22, Reply)

(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 11:27, Reply)
that's no way to speak to your mother!
So, how was Saturday? Can you tell me who won the Grand National?
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 11:32, Reply)
I have no idea who one the grand national. Mainly cos I don't know what it is.
Saturday was good. I"m the only one at uni on my half of the floor tonight. woooooo. quiet!
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 11:35, Reply)
Oh, excellent! You might get some sleep then.
The Grand National is our big horse race that's on this afternoon - like the Melbourne Cup. It's the one everybody has a bet on. I just figured since it's already Saturday night there, you might know who the winner was...
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 11:39, Reply)
I can't tell if you're being serious or joking there with that comment about knowing who the winner is.
If you're being serious, then no, I don't know.
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 11:40, Reply)
Sorry, I was feigning stupidity for comedic effect
Obviously I need to work on my technique. ; )
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 11:44, Reply)
eh, don't stress about it - I'm really, really braindead
I guess this means it's bed time now!
niiight.
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 11:48, Reply)
Morning
Due to a cheaper than expected night, I'm going to be slapping £5 on Ballabriggs, as soon as I can be bothered to leave the house.

Alt: No, last time someone with hair like yours went near a horse race, the women ended up getting the vote!

And this is how MY day is starting *grins*
(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 10:02, Reply)
Are you adding rohypnol to someone's Stella?

(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 10:23, Reply)

(, Sat 9 Apr 2011, 13:20, Reply)

That's why you're on that offenders register.

Food shopping, dog walking, sun bed, lunch, now to put new mattress on bed and try not to lie on it and fall asleep and then gym.

I've made what AA would call a cowboy pork casserole*
cubed 3 pork loin steaks and browned them in bacon fat. Removed them from the pan and put in 3 shallots, a turnip, a leek and a red pepper all chopped up. Browned them with some garlic, 2 different kinds of mustard, mushroom ketchup and worcestershire sauce. Added it all to the slow cooker with a pack of passata, a couple of glasses of Barolo, some dried mushrooms, sage, basil, thyme and rosemary.

Now to leave it for 4-5 hours and cross my fingers.

*and what everybody else calls "cooking"
