Sorry to start another thread but that one's died.
Where is your favourite place in the world, and why?
(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:33, 149 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
Milton Keynes because it's awesome.

(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:34, Reply)
At the moment, my bed.
Well, my mattress. It's cosy as fuck and it's where I catch up on sleep.
(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:34, Reply)
do you often lay in bed? other than to sleep, I mean

(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:38, Reply)
Yeah, reading, watching a movie on the laptop, private time etc.
It's a nice place to be.
(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:38, Reply)
i can't do this, unless i have a crippling hangover
laying in bed, other than to sleep, gives me a headache
(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:39, Reply)
they say you shouldn't lay in bed unless you're going to sleep
also that you shouldn't have a tv in your room, that it should be for sleeping and sex
(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:41, Reply)
they have a bad habit of talking too much

(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:42, Reply)
I suspect they are complete cunts. And that they are homosexuals.

(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:47, Reply)
It's pretty hard to sleep and have sex on a TV though.
Well, sleep, anyway.

Regarding insomnia....
You should only sleep in your bed if you have trouble sleeping. I watched a programme about it innit.
(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:45, Reply)
wait... so where should I sleep if I don't have trouble sleeping?
anywhere apart from my bed?
(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:46, Reply)
If you don't have trouble sleeping then you have cart blanche to sleep wherever you wish.

(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:47, Reply)
Thanks.

(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:48, Reply)
I don't sleep anywhere but my bed.
I think I'm reeling the sleep thing in a bit, it's been a little better this past few days and I seem to be catching up, thank fuck.
(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:48, Reply)
with my experience of insomnia
it's hard enough to sleep in a bed, let alone anywhere else
(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:55, Reply)
i think that's the point though, it's hard to relax with all those distractions
I only have a tv in my room because I rent a room and don't have a whole apartment to myself
i think the last time I watched my tv was when I watched the little mermaid in february
(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:46, Reply)
Sorry K. I see you have already elaborated on this.

(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:47, Reply)
I don't have a teevee, I have a laptop and I'll sometimes watch something until I feel tired then turn it off and sleep
but usually I'll turn it off when I'm ready and read for a bit before I fall asleep. This is starting to work wonders now.
(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:49, Reply)
Reading is my favoured sleep inducer.

(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:52, Reply)

(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 15:00, Reply)
how do you know they're 4 different typed then?

(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 15:03, Reply)
Because they look and smell completely different?
I've had weed that was almost an off-white green, dark red (from South Africa), deep, forest green, you fucking name it - and the aromas and flavours - not to mention the effects - can be as different, too.

if I do that
I sometimes fall asleep while reading and then dream the next part of the book. It makes it really confusing when you start reading it again
(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:55, Reply)
NO TEEVEE?!
I'm not trying to argue with you, you do what's best for you, I'm just talking

I don't fall asleep to reading, I'm just too interested.

I think mine might be Evanston, Illinois.
I fucking love it. It has sandy beach (but NOT - duh - salt water as it's on a lake), beautiful architecture (much of it's a conservation area), you can be in the countryside after a short drive or in Chicago in 15 minutes on the train. It's full of American student 'chicks' drinking heavily and it has more 2nd hand record shops than I have ever seen in one place.
(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 14:34, Reply)
Why might yours be Evanston. Illinois?

We had a short exchange on this a couple of weeks ago. Sri Lanka is stunning.

Just take a cushion to sit on if you are touring on a coach/bus. It takes forever to cover even modest distances.
(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 15:17, Reply)
I can't do coach/buses as I get panic attacks so I will be hiring a driver.
More expensive I know but my mum and sis did this and said it better.
(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 15:20, Reply)
It'll cost you pence either way.

(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 15:22, Reply)
Precisely.
Plus I get a nice driver to chat to one to one.
(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 15:23, Reply)
Cool.
Journeys still take forever (I did tours driver stylee) but loads to see out of the window.

TIP: You say where you want to go, absolutely no driver suggested diversions. They might sound like interesting stops but they are ALL shops where the driver is on a kick back. No exceptions.
(, Tue 26 Apr 2011, 15:24, Reply)
Thanks for that : )
There is a small chance my sis might be able to come with me. She's from Sri Lanka and always get's attention when she's there.
