Looks like there's only me, Crunchy and LiC on the internet tonight. Anyone else out there?
My Saturday evening looks like Dr Who, Eurovision, possible takeaway and copious amounts of alcohol. How does this differ from your saturday night plans?
Alt: where the fuck have you all been?

I've been walking 9k, having my bank card stolen by a stupid crashing Santander machine, drinking with dad (and borrowing money from him) then shopping for food and getting drenched.
My mate will be so amused when she picks me up. I will be wearing some round-the-house clothes, but as I will also have footwear on it will appear like I 'mean it' and have become a scally scouser.
(, Sat 14 May 2011, 17:14, Reply)
Not for the scallyness, obviously. That's just something our family will have to gloss over at social occasions.

My Aldi injury is giving me far more trouble than any mild walking fatigue. Again, the Aldi thing, might not want to share that with the rest of my in-laws either. Fanx.

Mary had lost her garage key and was wondering if we had moved it. I panicked, because I hate to think I might have done something bad.
Anyway, it turned out her neighbour had it, so we're off the hook. also, she was over the moon at her giftcard.

but there will probably by a bbq, depending on rain.
Just making the last thing to go in randomburn before I post them. I am proper excited about this, I hope people like them (I'm sure Mr Dizzle won't)

I just need to burn the CDs, and I should be able to get them posted on Monday.
I had my first one the other day, but it didn't come with a playlist. I haven't listened to it yet.

It's obviously not food poisoning, as there probably weren't any pies left by the time she got there.

so have been to do the monthly bulk shop. Got through the checkout only to find that I'd left my debit card at home. Good job I live just around the corner from Aldi (sorry to mention their name, Gary).

I look forward to it hopefully being less painful tomorow.
I've now managed to eat food, which is good, I'm battling between getting thai from some place that delivers to my ma's, and not being able to eat it.. or just doing some salmon in the oven like yesterday. I don't think I'm going to do the right thing and cook some salmon, because I'm a massive twat. But I have hardly ate this week and I really want thai food. Plus it's a saturday and I'm all OH WOE IS ME, STUFF MY FACE WITH LIFE VALIDATING FOOD. I'm much better today than yesterday, but still in lots of pain. Sad Times.

I looked into that band you suggested the other day. I'm relatively undecided, but I don't hate them...

Except there is no money in the house, nowhere near takes debit cards or cheques, and I can't be arsed to go out to the bank.

Santander's stupid ancient cash machine stole mine.

so I had to cancel the card in case it spat it out and I wasn't there.
(, Sat 14 May 2011, 18:19, Reply)
With a massive fuck off Santander logo on it. It looked more than a little sacriligous.

Been out to watch the largely forgettable cup final.
Bit sad as waiting for news on my good friend's mum who appears to be in the very final stages of cancer in a hospice. Awaiting the appearance of Miss Beekers with food, wine and cuddles.
(, Sat 14 May 2011, 17:52, Reply)
cancer is a bastard and no mistake.
How's the new job going, btw?
(, Sat 14 May 2011, 18:00, Reply)
I'm seeing her tonight and she's at the angry stage, but not with me.
(, Sat 14 May 2011, 18:11, Reply)
Surprised myself by bursting into tears when Miss B appeared. The cuddles were very welcome.
Not too bad. I feel like a fraud, knowing absolutely fuck all about the job. Weird feeling not knowing every aspect of it Hate having to play everything by ear. Still, sure it'll be ok given time. Looks like there will be prospects as well this time.
Hope it goes well tonight, Roota. Suspect I'll be playing the same role very soon. He seems to be bearing up ok so far. I'll just be there for him when he needs it.

PJM and nuggets have gone out for a bike ride.
Today I have been busy taking my mother to buy a dress for my dad's funeral which is on Tuesday. Also just dropped the order of service off to Staples to get it printed and also bought out the entire whisky stock of Morrisons for Monday night's wake.
Would now like a sleep and Dr Who.
(, Sat 14 May 2011, 18:54, Reply)
Still rather hard to believe that he's gone, but it comes to us all I suppose. Shame really - he'd have loved the wake. :)

I hope the funeral provides a bit of closure and the wake is a great celebration of his life.

especially when it's someone's parent. My dad was 70 so he'd had a good long life, he died with all of us around him and it was fairly sudden so from his point of view, ideal.
I do think as a society we tend to avoid death - either talking about it or dealing with it. He was the first dead body I'd ever seen and I was surprised at how normal it all felt. A tragedy for us as a family, certainly, but not a tragedy in the same way as when a child or someone young dies.
I miss the old bugger but I was lucky to have him around for as long as I did - plenty of people haven't had a dad as good.
(, Sat 14 May 2011, 19:09, Reply)
... can't do that for too long, I reckon you've got about 2 months worth of potential action if you play it right.

- More corner pieces of sheppard's pie, lasagnia or other baked goods
- When having home made chips, the left over ones because there were too many made to fit on everyone's plate, are totally yours.
- The ratio of non-broken egg yolks goes in your favour.
- Waaay more aspagous
- Get to watch hollyoaks on both normal _and_ E4.
Although you have to put up with ma' deleting everything you wanted off the sky box because it's on 25% full and ITV3 have some detective show based in some backwards village in the arse end of no where on.

A few beers and a bit of telly in the order of the evening.
Alright all?
